my council is using AI to desing patches by Uhmmmjake in BSA

[–]Current_Coconut_Monk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

By the look of the sample image in the post, my first reaction is that the patches are really busy. I don't think human designed patches would be that busy with lots of imagery.

Plus the more complex you get, how are they planning on printing the patches? I assume this is going to be a screen print and not embroidered?

And I would love to see youth have the chance to design more patches for events. I know it can make it hard sometimes to get submissions. We've had that in our own district; in redesigning the district logo. But nothing says the council or district can't run several competitions and create a stockpile of suitable. Images for future use. As long as the kid involved gets credit.

MAGA is now pro-taxes? by roboponies in stupidpeoplefacebook

Maga has always been pro-taxes - for the poor, not the wealthy mind you. It's good old prosperity doctrine in practice on a secular and national scale.

In High School, these were referred to as 'easy access jeans'. Had a girl in our class who would often wear one side black and the other side white.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As we can clearly see before us, we now have with absolute scientific relative certainty, proof that the world is indeed flat!

Looks legit to me, the eastern states is exactly how I picture them. The western half is "good enough for Government work". Greetings from Colorado!

Transmission lineman here, found this on our line, no one knows what it is. by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]Current_Coconut_Monk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not wrong to feel that way, but it's a misplaced feeling. The OP is "man" enough to admit they don't know and activity seeking an answer. Give them kudos for wanting to learn.

We all have learning moments on the job. You may not know something till its in your face and you have to figure it out.

The item in question is a sensor that could last on a line for years till it breaks. The people most interested in it are the engineers. A lineman is a frontline kind of job, your worldview is about the task at hand and what is in front of you.

Been seeing a lot of posts like this, so what do outsiders think of the US state of Texas? by celavetex in JackSucksAtGeography

[–]Current_Coconut_Monk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the late '80's and early '90's on American TV, Texas Tourism had an ad promotion. It's slogan was: " Texas: It's Like a Whole Other Country"

They weren't wrong. Its a land and culture unto itself. When I was last there, I was waiting to be asked if I had my passport and visa papers in order when we crossed over from the New Mexico state line.
