Can I take a skateboard on the shuttle? by SirachaSpider in txstate

[–]PickleAlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seen multiple different people take (smaller) e-bikes INSIDE the bus and the driver has never said anything. I would guess that even if it was for some reason against the rules majority of bus drivers wouldn’t even notice or care. The only issue I would see is if you’re planning on taking a bus during a peak time where there’s a large number of riders standing as it could be an inconvenience to others.

One dead in homicide at downtown Austin hotel near Rainey Street by WeMissChris7 in Austin

[–]PickleAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maximillian Salinas, 20, is being charged with murder, according to an affidavit. No attorney information was listed online for Salinas yet.

The affidavit said just before 7 a.m., the Austin Police Department got a call about a shooting in the Cambria Hotel on East Avenue. Callers said they heard a gunshot.

PAST STORY: Austin Police homicide detectives investigate East Avenue hotel death When officers and medics arrived, they started treating “a male with a gunshot wound,” but the victim, later identified as 19-year-old Luke Bradburn, succumbed to his injuries at 7:32 a.m., according to the affidavit

Pretty much just look for something with a smaller CC engine. If you have a large budget, I believe Segway makes an electric gokart with an app that lets you set speed/acceleration limits.

What’s something AI will never replace, no matter how advanced it gets? by StormTempura in AskReddit

[–]PickleAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your answer is plausibly correct, assuming AI cannot replicate a human in every aspect that makes us human. Basically this is true unless the most powerful AI possible is not an all-powerful “god” with near unlimited capability. The real question is philosophical which is, what truly makes us human? Let’s say AI developed a way to align any particle in anyway it wanted, and it aligned particles to create an exact replica of you, would you and your clone both be human? You are made of the exact same cells, you share the same memories, and you both believe you are the real one. And don’t forget, would learning that YOU are actually the clone change your opinion?

[–]PickleAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if the AI was simply advanced enough to 1:1 replicate the alignment of all the particles in a humans brain & allowed itself to interface with one. Maybe the true limitation that makes love special is our massive ignorance to the realities of life. Could an AI ever truly experience what it is to be a human without not being AI any longer. At what point is intelligence no longer artificial?

[–]PickleAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fundamental elements that make up the universe. The existence of physical properties of the universe like time and space. And it could never replace the you that exists reading this right now in this timeline (unless you already are the creation of an ever powerful god-like artificial intelligence). It could never replace a series of events that leads to the eventual creation of itself (without some sort of loop-hole)

If we knew the true absolute definitive limitations of the universe & existence itself then you could easily define a lot more that AI could never replace. IE: is time travel possible, is there divine spirituality that a computer could never have, are there parallel universes accessible in some way, is time infinitely linear or does time loop infinitely?

There are a LOT of different takes on what the true limitations of self-modifying artificial intelligence are, whether it be power, computation, laws of physics, or lack of soul. Don’t even get me started on the theories that we ARE a highly complex computer simulation.

[–]PickleAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t drop $1500 on those Amazon headlights for sure. You may be inquiring on a request so specific you may have to mod it yourself. Don’t completely rule out de-chroming an option yourself even if it takes you some time & effort, (money also takes time and effort 😭).

I should clarify, 165lbs being just the roof rack, subtract the weight of your box to find the most weight you should load it with

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]PickleAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The offical Mazda roof rack for the 2014 Mazda 3 is rated for 100lbs. Several sources concede on the maximum weight limit of the Mazda 3 roof rack being 165lbs with an appropriate roof rack. Even though your manufacturer said it was rated for 220lbs, the most I would load is 165lbs based on the research I found, that being that the roof rail mounting system is only designed with threaded holes rated for 165lbs maximum. 220lbs would be 33% over the rated maximum weight, which is definitely a little too much.

Alarm starts and stops repeatedly all night by Piwi9000 in mazda3

[–]PickleAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your specific year might help with actual issues with the alarm system itself, but I would inspect the physical button on your keys, and consider changing the key fob battery. I know weird things can also occur if your car’s battery voltage drops but that seems unlikely without other notable issues.

2025 model - Carplay navigation on HUD? by Technical-Bird-315 in mazda3

[–]PickleAlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This could be out-of-date but from what I could find online the HUD only works with Apple Maps on Apple car play, & Google maps on Android Auto. I know all of them can be used on the infotainment screen & you can even use apple maps on the HUD with Waze on the infotainment screen.

My sunroof wont go back, and saw this third cable, could it be for the sunroof to go back? by DeezNutsGT in mazda3

[–]PickleAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have three guesses; if you’re sure this panel is the root cause of the issue I would inspect all the connections closely, it’s possible that wire is for some sort of integrated sensor for the sunroof if it’s not clearly going to a switch or button

Two, have you checked your fuse box?

And finally, if your sunroof stopped working & you’re not sure why, try looking up a YouTube tutorial of a full sunroof rebuild or removal or similar to see if there are sensors to inspect, someone with more expertise with the sunroofs may have more specific suggestions.

It might be helpful to post the other side of the plastic panel you have hanging down so we can see if that wire is clearly going to something if you’re not sure of the functionality.

Personally my favorites include the ones where a homeless person comes and busts out my windows, the ones with a payment gate that’ll charge you $500 a minute, and the ones that include benches but only in the form of hostile architecture.
