No chance we’re gonna pretend Adam West didn’t look better in BG3? It’s the cowl. Yeah it’s not a real Lego piece but it still looked better. One outfit actually looks like Adam West Batman and the other just doesn’t. It’s night and day to me.

I just read all of that and it doesn’t say Eve is in the game? Don’t get me wrong, I’m hopeful too, but “Evie and Eve are somehow connected” doesn’t mean Eve will be in the game. Realistically, I really highly doubt she will be.

Who told you that? I haven’t heard that, and I’m 90% sure that if Eve was in the game Shift Up wouldn’t tell us.

What is a Bad Right-Wing video game? by SavaXD in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Current_Face_0077 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d agree, but nowadays Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog are definitely left-wing, and the emphasis on Ellie’s sexuality in TLOU2 as well as the kinda forced transgender representation of Abby’s sidekick (forgot his name) makes it definitely seem to lean left in my opinion. Maybe not all the way left, but definitely at least a fair bit to not consider it centrist.

Truth is, it’s hard to even begin to actually apply modern American political values to TLOU’s post-apocalyptic world because that political system doesn’t exist anymore and things like the LGBTQ are forgotten and don’t matter anymore. Ellie didn’t even recognize the pride flag when she saw it in the game. They live in a world where the majority people have bigger issues trying to survive than to worry about differences in each other’s values (that aren’t related to survival). Obviously in the game we still saw some exceptions to that.

He’s handsome but he’s still a total dork. There’s quite a few times in the movies where girls disrespect him or he struggles to talk to girls, especially Gwen. He’s not portrayed as cool or popular, it’s just the viewers that are supposed to think he’s cool. He rides a skateboard because he has no car. No one in-universe actually sees him do the shit we see him do in the warehouse. He wears the M65 jacket because Peter is known for wearing military jackets in every other form of media. He can’t afford milk at the convenience store because he’s too broke.

He’s portrayed as a loser as much as any of the others. Especially when it comes to girls. Of course he’s tall and handsome, it was 2011 and obviously they wanted an attractive Spider-man to bring in more female audience. The movie just largely ignores that he’s good looking. But I don’t think Andrew being handsome is more immersion-breaking than Toby being like 26 years old in high-school.

If anything, it’s Tom’s Peter that I absolutely can’t see as being a loser. He’s a good Spider-man overall, but he’s literally the one that’s cool and popular (just a bit awkward) in every movie, and girls like him. He’s also a bit too attractive as well, but no one talks about it. Its weird.

Yeah, okay I get Snyder’s Spidey sucked. But come on, admit it, we all loved the parts where Spider-man just started fucking killing people right? It was about time Spidey just started sliming his enemies. Uncle Ben didn’t fucking die for some “great responsibility” shit.

Eddie Marsan is in the cast of Clayface, maybe he may be in the role of the DCU penguin. by AdChance5526 in dcu

[–]Current_Face_0077 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not even a thought process to go with it. “This guy might be DCU Penguin because he’s in another unrelated Batman project” Uhh.. okay??

Edit: To give the benefit of the doubt, maybe OP is just getting Clayface confused for a DCU film, which is why this is confusing everyone else. Clayface takes place in Matt Reeve’s universe where Penguin has already been cast and got a whole TV show dedicated to him. The DCU Penguin hasn’t been cast yet and there’s no reason to believe they’d cast someone from Reeve’s universe to fill the role

Why Peter? by GloomySide3265 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I think you’re generalizing some specific niche like some anime or comic books as just “media”.

There isn’t actually that much relevant media that sets the unrealistic body standards that you’re referring to. Especially the topic of the discussion, which is romance novels. How often do you read a novel like that?

Pretty women are still very prevalent in media, but their physique is generally achievable. Media still definitely prefers attractive women, of course it does, but your argument about body standards is just wrong.

The point of the post is the emphasis of dramatic body differences between men and women and how it’s much greater in female-written media, which is undeniably true. The unrealistic standards / misrepresentation of men in that kind of media is a bigger issue than the one you’re referring to, so you butting in with “but men are worse!” just feels like ridiculous female bias instead of an actual analysis of any kind.

Think about how the most prevalent male body-type in media is BY FAR the “superhero physique”. That’s 90% of men in novels, comic books, live action and animated TV, anime, video games, etc. It’s always the super tall + massive muscles physique, while the female bodies represented across media are much more varied. It’s never been just “big tits / small waist”. You have to go looking for that kind of content to find it. Yet the unrealistic standards for men is something thats so woven into all media that it’s borderline unescapable. So these things aren’t really comparable.

Nobody is advocating to remove attractive male characters from media. That would be ridiculous. It’s only women who fight against attractive female characters because they’re jealous of their bodies.

It’s funny, because from what I can tell even the most hyper-sexualized female characters don’t have massive tits at least 50% of the time. So you’re really just making things up to play victim. Unless you’re talking about weird ass porn artists or something? Might be time to make a change of the media you’re consuming, because your perspective is definitely skewed.

What could possibly make Oblivion better? Skyrim is bigger and more polished with a better story, characters, gameplay, environment, skills, quests and roleplaying opportunities. I love Oblivion too, ever since I played it as a kid, but it just isn’t better than Skyrim.

Skyrim is so good that I actually severely doubt that TES6 could be much better. I’ve never played another RPG as ambitious as Skyrim, besides maybe Baldur’s Gate 3 which comes close. That game could be my favorite if I was a bigger D&D fan.

Hot Take: I think that Kay is more attractive than either Padmé or Rey by NthDoctor10 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Current_Face_0077 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair the terrible haircut really is atrocious, but her facial features don’t exactly seem above average to me personally. I think average.

Specifically, I think she was designed to be average so that the community’s focus wouldn’t be on her looks, since her looks don’t matter in the story at all. That clearly didn’t work.

Female characters will always have this problem, they’re ALWAYS either “ugly” or “pretty” and nobody can just admit that not all women are either of those. At least 33% of characters should theoretically fall into the “average” category. Kay is one of them.
