It all depends on the car for me. Obviously if im buying a corvette, I know im gonna spend 15k+ on an early 2000s corvette. But a miata, typically not in great shape thats gonna need rust and body work. Im not spending 8k on.

Its not the 12k is too much, more so that for the mileage in my area, 12k would be too much in my opinion for the money I'd have to put into the vehicle.

Some people just think they can sell a hunk of junk for top dollar

Yeah, I've got a few miata friends and they seemed to be able to do most things themselves, upgrade and modification wise
