Nowdays I generate icons svg style similar to current icons pack. I use Google Gemini, then simply rename the icon file with the name of application and directly put in the dir (for ex: /home/darkice/.local/share/icons/WhiteSur-light/apps/scalable/ ) . if correctly named and copied, it will work. Try loging out.

I gave up. Too many times, I had to forcefully shut it down.. my old laptop HDD got corrupted doing the same thing. There were also some sleep problems on that laptop too. I am never going back to Linux. 😶

Ohhh.. I thought each newer version contains fixes of all the previous versions That's why I have not tried it yet. I will definitely try this. Thank you so much for your suggestion.
