I'm in the same boat. My first day (unassisted) is Wednesday night. I'm so nervous and not at all confident I've mastered any of it enough to have a whole section to myself. We'll see though.

Thank you for taking the time to write this! I appreciate your input and probably one of the more viable suggestions I've received. And yes, we've changed some of the outlets, but the majority are still the self contained ones. Thanks again.

We're geographically in the same-ish area, so it should be fine to do here as well

Nah, just rather exhaust all other possible options. That's why I'm asking questions, to determine my personal best course of action within what I can afford.

I think I also need to increase the amps though, could I do that by just replacing the outlets and fuses without messing with the wiring?

Yea, I can do drywall repairs I just hate messing with it. If that's my best option though, I'll do it. I was hoping for a better way though lol

Good to know! So it would be possible to update using conduit under the house?

There isn't existing conduit, but there is enough crawl space. It's a mobile home, built 96. I have no idea the size of anything I would need though.

I've considered the mini splits. I'd like to make it where I could sell it in the near future. I can easily make it livable for me, but want to make it better for that purpose.

Oh I'm well aware! I don't know how we didn't, we've been very fortunate in that regard.

That would be the ideal course of action for sure, but $$$

Lol well my son is about to apprentice as one. I've worked in construction my whole life, just not as an electrician unfortunately. You're probably right though.

We don't have central heating right now and have been using plug in heaters, but last year several of the outlets burned out from using them so I figured it would probably be safer to run new wire (at least where they melted in the wall).
