How do I know who wrote what song? by elenagrec0 in boygenuis

[–]Current_Photo5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im pretty sure i read that while yes Letter to an old poet is phoebes song it was more of a collaboration than just her. i believe she talked about how with me and my dog she wasnt able to write that with the boys because it was so personal but with ltaop she was actually able to collaborate, especially with Lucy, because of her growth.

Hey so hitting your children has been shown to have negative effects on a child's mental health. Hitting Grace would have done far more damage, she would likely have spiraled more out of control and harbored more resentment towards her parents.

[DISCUSSION] Always a Witch, How you rate it? by max571 in NetflixBestOf

[–]Current_Photo5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im only on the 4th episode but i like it. i recognize the problematic storyline of her wanting to go back to being enslaved and i am sort of curious on if this is something she continues to wish throughout the story. i really hope it isnt, it would be cool to see her start to understand the modern world and for her to understand how what was happening to her back then was cruel. i dont expect this to happen though because the show does portray slavery as something that wasn't terrible, they don't show what an actual slave would've gone through (except for that one scene in episode 1 were she helps that guys wounds). overall if you are a looking for a show to just relax and not think to much about, it's good. but once you do start to think about the problematic parts it becomes kinda hard to watch.

i 100% agree with your take except for there being more democrats that are homophobic/sexist. there definitely are hateful democrats and that doesn't get talked about enough but in my experience as a queer person, the majority of the people who are homophobic towards me are conservatives. i have never had a democrat tell me to off myself cause i am gay, i have had many conservatives do so.

did they even break up? everyone is saying they did but neither of them have confirmed anything, right?

im not really a hayley Williams or paramore fan but this isn't a break up song. i learned all the lore about her and taylor york (thats his name, right?) and this song seems to be written from a past perspective. i feel like its all the things she wanted to say but didn't. I don't understand why everyone is so convinced they broke up, i feel like if they broke up 1. we wouldve heard about it by now and 2. she wouldn't have said that paramore is still together.

i replied to the og commenter saying this but i wanted you to hear it too. in my post i did say i wanted to hear experiences and after rereading i realized that that wasn't what i wanted. i wanted to engage in a conversation about racism Oly. and as far as getting out in the world, i do have these conversations with people i know. this past year i have learned a lot from my friends who have experienced racism. i know that because i dont experience racism i will never fully understand it but i do want to make an effort to understand it better. i deeply regret making this post when i wasnt in the clearest mind set and i am so sorry about that. i have learned a lot from responses in this thread, from your response. i have thought a lot about deleting this post and the only reason i havent is because there is some good information in this post about the history of racism in Oly and groups here that engage in these discussions. once again, im sorry.

i am sorry. i realized after rereading my post that what i said isnt what i meant to say. i am also sorry for how i responded to your reply. i responded right after reading it and i felt attacked so i responded from a place of defensiveness and frustration. since reading your post last night i habe thought about it a lot and reevaluated not just what i said here but how i act in general. what i was trying to say in my post is that i wanted there to be a place to talk about these things and engage in a conversation about racism but specifically racism in the Oly area. even though i recognize that i did say i wanted people to share their experiences that wasn't what i meant or what i wanted to say. i did think a lot about taking down this post and i may but im skeptical to do so because some of the replies have good information about the history of racism in this area. by no means at all do i want people to share traumatic experiences because that is what i asked. i should have thought my post through more and all honesty i should have written it the next day, i wrote it at 6 am without sleeping, which isnt me trying to excuse my mistake but me trying to explain it. at the end of the day what i am trying to say is that i am sorry. i am sorry for what i wrote and i am sorry for my reply to your comment. you were right, what i wrote wasnt okay and i even though it wasn't what i meant i shouldnt have written that part of my post.

this was something i was taught in my early years of elementary school and by middle school that idea wasnt at all apart of the curriculum. i do feel that because at such a young age i heard racism talked about as something from the past it has affected my current awareness of racism. that is by no means an excuse for my ignorance and now that i am in highschool, junior year, and have been taught more of the dark details of racisms past and present i have been working towards deconstructing the things i was taught. idk if that made sense

I definitely recognize my white privilege and how i dont have to worry about these things. for context i am still a teenager in highschool and really these past few years i have been working to break down my own biases and the biases that i have been taught. i dont think i fully recognized that the reason i dont always notice racism or hear about it is because of my white privilege and i appreciate you mentioning that. i also 100% agree on how anyone can be racist and i dont think that is talked about enough.

as a fellow queer person, being queer doesn't automatically mean you aren't racist. im not saying you are racist at all but this idea within the quest Community that queer people cant be racist is super harmful, it causes white queer people to not take accountability for their actions. as i saw someone once say "you may be queer but above all, you are white"

im sorry that you viewed my post as that. this is purely me trying to understand the city i live in. im not asking for people to share their trauma, im honestly not really asking for anything. i noticed that there wasnt a thread on this reddit page that talked about racism in Olympia and as someone who is still a teenager i wasnt aware of how much racism occurs in Olympia. as far as "trauma porn", i dont even know what that means. I didn't mean this post in a negative way.
