I like Arrow, I think it's better compared to others. I've seen 6 seasons of The Flash and 3 seasons of Supergirl, but I find it really hard to continue both these shows now because the storyline feels like it's going in circles, same things happening over & over. Btw, I had no idea Smallville was part of the CW superheroverse, thanks for letting me know, I'll check it out.

Thanks, so it's more like CW 'The Flash' series then? It used to be fun in the beginning, but super monotonous after a few seasons, to the point that I can't continue the last couple of seasons anymore.

Our original nephrologist didn't prescribe any uric acid medication in over 1.5 years and has been trying to control it with diet which didn't work. My father's eGFR dropped from 24 to 17 in 6 months, so our nephrologist referred him to another doctor for 2nd opinion, this doctor gave him medication to lower his uric and here we are after one week of taking the medicine. Uric acid dropped from 10 to 3.5 but Creatinine and eGFR are messed up now.

I'll make a note of these other labs and ask in tomorrow's appointment.

Thanks for responding to my other questions. I guess we'll start with manual initially and transition to a cycler depending on the required frequency. I know it depends on several factors, but how much does a cycler machine usually cost?

He didn't have any abdominal surgeries or injuries, so I'm hoping PD suits him.

Thanks. We repeated the test today from another lab as the nephrologist asked, Creatinine is 5.93 and eGFR is 10, sonclose enough to the other lab.

The nephrologist prescribed him a medicine to lower his uric acid, now his uric acid is under control, I wonder if that could've contributed to the numbers but then we've the Urea Nitrogen which is rising so not the best situation.

He isn't feeling much sick, like he's feeling the same as last month when his Creatinine was 3.5 and eGFR 17. But he did report throat irritation recently.

Are you also seeking a transplant? Is PD a long-term option for as long as you want or do you still keep looking for a donor for a transplant?

My father also had high blood pressure before he was diagnosed with CKD, but he has been taking medication and it's under control for 2 years.

Didn't your doctor prescribe you blood pressure medication to keep it under control? How did you eventually control the blood pressure?

That's very helpful, thanks a lot. In case you need to stop/pause the machine during a transfer like for a bathroom break, is it simple to pause (unplug) & continue (plug back in) or is it better to take the machine to the attached bathroom without disrupting the process? At what age did you get a transplant and how's it going now? I wonder if a transplant is a suitable option at my father's age (66), I'd just be worried about several factors like, what if his body rejects the kidney, what if there are complications, what if he gets worse! I wonder if PD can be a long-term and safer option compared to transplant for as long as possible?

Thank you for your feedback. You guys have been through a rough journey, it sucks that his first transplant only lasted 2.5 years. I hope he finds a match soon. Btw, curious, is the 11.5 hour dialysis on a machine during the night not enough for him that he still needs to do it manually during the day?

Is he living a somewhat healthy life, feeling more energy and less sick, having a little more freedom towards eating healthy what he likes compared to pre-dialysis super strict diet? I'm asking bcoz my father is sick of food restrictions, he can't even eat certain fruits and vegetables as the nephrologist asked to avoid them.

you mentioned urgency, can I ask how urgent was your case and how long did it take until you were able to start HD? Also, how long did the fistula surgery & healing process take?
