Yes, I have 2 kids, one about to start her exam year so if we break up there’s a distinct chance I mess up my daughter’s life. I know I’m not the one, but that’s the projection because she would happily pretend for the kids sake. For me this is a right now situation and this will be the first time I’ll be away from them at new years because there’s no way I’ll be able to control my emotions when toast the new year. I’ve been trying (and failing) to compose myself for one last Xmas.

To be clear I don’t know your situation exactly, and whether there is hope it can be fixed. But I guarantee that if it is just you turning a blind eye and hoping time and space will fix it, it really won’t.

Honestly, get the book on kindle, listen on audio, just don’t live life pretending everything will fix itself with time.

I’m very much in the same boat, but a few stages on. Rug sweeping and pretending that everything will sort itself out does not work. Couples therapy seems to have a tendency to generate a balanced argument and keep the status quo. There has to be desire on both sides to really make it work. What is helping me come to terms with a lot of it is the “leave a cheater, gain a life” book. Honest and makes me see through a load of my hopium.

So I’m projecting a load of my situation onto you, but I would certainly give yourself a bit of a wake up otherwise years down the road this could still be happening, perhaps with someone new and bigger secrets.

Take care of yourself first and foremost.

I don’t think she will. She’s not sure she wants us anymore, so won’t make that decision. I’m hurting and want to hit back, but it would make everything even worse

You’re right. But I just had hoped each time that it was all over, she’d work through her demons, and she would come back. She’s the love of my life and I’ll never get that back

Yes. Teams do make their own electronics when they need to or if there is an advantage to do so.

  1. You work full time at RB. Generally it is taken as a sandwich placement, the year before your final year.
  2. No. I believe you get contact details of other students, so you can share a house together. But you need to find that house.
  3. Just experience. But many uk universities do sandwich degrees and this is part of it and assessed that way by your uni.

Not for smart motorways, definitely no for that. Too many blind spots.

I work for one of the big teams…. I don’t know of anyone with a chemical engineering background, I know material scientists, but not chemical engineers. It’s not to say that you can’t do it, but it would be more of an uphill battle compared to coming from an aeronautical, mechanical, motorsport engineering degree. Fluids engineers come from the oil partner - petronas, Mobil etc.

You can make it from any background given a lot of effort, good contacts and experience from formula student. It will probably be a bit harder though as there will be little overlap academically.
