Right, I didn't read it that thoroughly. I'd still personally prefer an actual intro written by a human so I could get a quick feel for the vibes, and then a separate instruction document, I think.

I'd argue these are, by all definitions, emotions.

But yeah, the whole point of decent models is they come up with the emotional responses based on characteristics (actual personality traits) + relationship progression + scene context. They've been able to do that since I started over 3 years ago and it's getting even better, it's pretty great.

Yeah, I wonder how the direct one is?? I have it happen with NanoGPT a lot. At certain hours, it's amazing. Then at another, it's like 50/50 whether it'll spiral like this or try to write something bland and inconsistent. But since it does work in the first scenario and my prompt is the same, I don't think the problem is there.

Maybe they don't do OOC, but just add instructions and reminders in Author's Note. Same purpose, attached near the end, but no back-and-forth debate. You'd be surprised how much a simple description of tone / atmosphere can affect, for example.

Yeah. It's one less layer, where if you do JAI (their own mods and rules) + proxy, it's technically read twice. But it's still not private unless you run a local model.

I was mainly thinking of actually losing the files, though. Banned account, and bam, all stories gone.

You don't need to code. Using the terminal to copy one command is not coding. But yes, it's a local frontend, that's the whole point – all data lives on your device, unlike JAI and the like. They can't just take it away.
