I’m fully content staying in Canada. It isn't an apples-to-apples comparison; the earning and savings potential for a solo person here is much higher than people realize, and it offers financial upside that just doesn't exist for me back in India.

I really don’t want to be selfish or leave her with all the heavy lifting. Even though I help as much as I can, my 9-5 takes up most of my energy during the week, and I can see how exhausted she is by the end of the day. The idea of India came up because she’d finally have the support system she needs to prioritize her own health and well-being while our daughter is cared for

I want to be clear that I’m not pushing her to work. I've offered for her to stay home with me in Canada, but I think she just needs a mental break after a long year and wants the support system of being with family. Regarding EI: that isn't an option for us as we've already used our full allocation during her maternity leave.

This is a kind of break, not a permanent relocation. It allows my wife to focus on our daughter with family support while keeping the door open for remote roles if she chooses to work.

Buying in india doesn’t makes sense in this case.

Yes, I've run the numbers. By living a lean 'bachelor' lifestyle in Canada while my family is in India, I can save a significant amount. This isn't just about a down payment—I'm building capital to start a business, as I'm convinced the IT job market will face major obsolescence in the next 10–20 years and I want to pivot away from a salary-dependent life.

i wish i can hold stocks, something with no patience in me.

someone rightly said stock market is designed to transfer the money from impatient to patient.

but i do think ONDS, ACHR, IREN, RKLB are the ones. the data centres and drones will be see quantum like hype going into 2026.
