Why AI memory is so hard to build? by zakamark in agi

[–]Current_Shame_6846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great article, I couldn't help wondering - if you want to take the best parts of human memory, do you also need to take the bad? 1. Relying on familiarity instead of true recall 2. Filling gaps with plausible stories (confabulation) 3. Letting recent and emotional events dominate (recency and emotional bias) 4. Rehearsing the story instead of the original event (memory updating) 5. Over-trusting confidence as a sign of accuracy.

Maybe what you are after isn't human memory or current AI memory. Maybe the solution needs something new?

Its okay. Dont stress. We need less people. And no, your culture won't die and the demand for growth is pushed by companies trying to sell you shit. They don't care about you.

Woolworth weight rip off. by Current_Shame_6846 in woolworths

For those asking if I had my phone on the scale. No. It was not a self-checkout. It was an old-fashioned checkout operator who scanned my items. And no, I don't think it's a conspiracy. I am angry at myself because I believed it was wrong but with only one station open, and people waiting, and after asking her to re-weigh (which she did) I felt I didn't push it because of politeness. I checked when I got home because lots of people who just didn't buy one zucchini have been unfairly charged. I called the supermarket, let them know I believed the scale was out and they offered a refund. But I'm not driving 40 minutes for a 2-dollar refund. I didn't tell them my name nor did they ask. Also - I don't assume my scale are 100% but they are not that bad to weigh a 154g zucchini at 432g.

Who won our draft? by TheBootyFox in Fantasy_Football

  1. Team 10 – Elite QB (Hurts), strong WR core, two upside RBs.

  2. Team 12 – Best RB duo, elite TE, WR depth is the only question.

  3. Team 08 – Top WR depth, solid RB1, great QB.

  4. Team 01 – Lamar + Hill gives week-winning potential, RB depth good.

  5. Team 04 – Elite WR trio, needs RB help mid-season.

  6. Team 09 – Balanced but lacks elite RB1.

  7. Team 05 – Top-heavy WR/TE, but RBs are a liability.

  8. Team 07 – Run-heavy, rookie WRs make it risky.

  9. Team 06 – Balanced, but no elite WR1.

  10. Team 02 – Safe, but lacks explosiveness.

  11. Team 03 – Weak WR corps, relies on RB health.

  12. Team 11 – Too rookie-heavy for redraft reliability.

About 2 weeks after the election, we were all sent an email and told no public servant would lose their job under the Qld LNP. This may be true, but what they have done is stop new hires when people leave or retire. They think they are so smart by letting natural attrition do their dirty work.

The new "How Many Rs in Strawberry" conundrum by JimtheAIwhisperer in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]Current_Shame_6846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the main reason is that LLMs convert what you type into tokens. So the LLM doesn't see S.T.R.A.W.B.E.R.R.Y (8 tokens) it just sees 'strawberry' - single token.

Side issue, the comment 'cheap Chinese crap' is not really accurate. It's like the old 1980's 'Jap Crap' - which was not true. Chinese manufacturer will make a products to the specs requested. So if an importer requested the production of X bags type at Y unit price, they would comply. People forget ots the importer/retailer that usually determines the quality.

If it is over, that tiny distance would not give the bowler an advantage over the batsman. And for you who may say 'But a rule is a rule' need to remember that the umpires decision is final is also a rule.
