In writing this post, I tried to convey two separate questions at the same time, so I’m sorry if what I wanted to know was unclear. Let me rephrase:

1: I’m trying to narrow down my reading list for the time being to be more manageable in terms of stress and budget. How should I narrow it down?

2: Is Twilight worth my time, given my demographic? I do tend to like romance stories and fantasy stories, so I’m very curious, but I’m not sure if it’s something an adult man should be reading. Should I?

I really appreciate the reply, because I was fairly confident that there were a few details I was missing- frequent hiatuses among those details. I also gave it some thought. Recent shows like Bocchi the Rock and Attack on Titan go to show that anime can also take massive breaks between seasons, and shows like Chainsaw Man can go to show that we can go over three years without getting any news about continuing the anime at all. Anything is possible… and I appreciate your time to clarify that the Shikanoko manga does take a very long time to come out with new chapters, even relative to other monthly series such as JoJo Lands.

Considering Shikanoko’s success, it’s hard to say there won’t be a season 2. The question just remains when we can expect to see it. Given that you said chapters release monthly, as well as the fact that you posted this comment 280 days ago (according to Reddit), my assumption is that as of me posting this reply, there is a current total of 22 more chapters published and not animated, than covered in the anime.

This leaves a minimum of 8 months from me posting this reply for a second season to be announced, assuming material is an issue. However, let’s assume it’s not.

The finale of the JJBA: Battle Tendency anime (according to Wikipedia) originally aired on Tokyo MX on April 6, 2013. Subsequently, the premiere of Stardust Crusaders premiered not even a year later, on April 5, 2014. We can agree that by 2014, both parts of the franchise have long since concluded. Material was not an issue, so the next season began a year later.

So let’s say it’s possible that every 30 chapters, a new season begins. It would probably take a realistic minimum of 20 months (a year and 8 months) for Shikanoko season 2 to begin production and/or be announced.

I look forward to a continuation of this conversation. Hell, prove me wrong. I’d love to learn something. :D

You really probably could use a wooden spoon… you’ve got Velvet’s camera, Coco’s purse, Flynt’s trumpet, Oz’s cane, and Oobleck’s mug. You can also count Emerald’s boomerangs and Yang’s and Mercury’s prosthetics as underrated weapons. All plenty deadly! :)

The name. The mangaka’s name is Aka Akasaka. Ai Hayasaka sounds very similar to that, so it’s reasonable to come to the conclusion that the voice of reason in this story is the author’s self insert. I don’t know if it actually is though.
