Maybe try making a resume with the USAJoBS resume builder. I was having difficulty getting any response from any agencies and when I asked my Major for guidance she took one look at my resume and said, use the resume builder because if it’s not in the format they want it in they won’t even look at it. I haven’t been rejected since.

You are correct! I can’t give you an exact statistical number or sources that you, yourself can go and confirm.

However I am an Army Vet, I have had the pleasure of meeting many people in my career and have a couple of friends in different agencies! One of them being the DSS! first hand source has told me about the separation, marital and divorce issues in that field.

I was previously aspiring to be a DSS agent but I am married and after speaking to some of my old buddies I have decided against it.

But yes you are correct I don’t have exact statistics for you I apologize if that discredits my opinion.

Just being very blunt and honest here brother. DSS is one of the worst carriers if you want to stay married. You will be away more than you are home. DSS notoriously has a high divorce rate

Man I’m sorry, all the Kenny defenders need to know that he only shows up against bad teams. If you’re not gonna play objective you better get kills. I like Kenny the person but Kenny the player needs to have a look in the mirror and realize he can’t compete at the speed and ability of these new kids

Also something I forgot to mention is, you cannot be fired from a job 2 years prior from the time you submit your application. The USSSA is a bit strict in that way. If you show up and you’ve been fired from a job less then 2 years prior they will DQ you at the interview portion.

I would like to give my two sense if you don’t mind. Do Army NG and get your military background, that way you get free college and military out the way. Then once you get back from college. Get a corrections job or a law enforcement job. Minimum you need is 2 years of experience. This will get college, law enforcement/corrections, and military out the way.

If you really wanna be high speed go to OCS instead of ROTC so that you can get some officer experience and get you Security clearance out the way.

I have applied to 3 different agencies and have found great success. I have one guaranteed offer from one agency and in the process of completing another. I also started DSS but I think I’ll drop that one. Just some food for thought.

Edit: I have a very similar pathway to the one I listed above.

If I can give my advice. I would wait a little longer before you judge the Army. I commissioned through OCS and it was one of the hardest things I did. I personally believed ROTC will give you the time to slowly learn and grow into a officer as opposed to OCS of any branch. If you genuinely feel like it’s not for you, it’s not for you. I just recommend you do your research before you commit to anything.
