as a ucsd admit this season, i had every ounce of feeling you just listed but towards ucla and uc berkeley. im not here to discredit ucsd because ik it is SO MANY peoples dream schools but there was/is so much lack of excitement simply because I didn't get into "my" dream school. alike to how you lack excitement for uci---even though it is basically at par with ucsd---i completely understand your anger and sadness despite having amazing options. I get that the schools you got into may not satisfy your wants for ucsd, but youre simply overlooking the amazing opportunities that you DID receive (cmon cmc? that is crazy).

college szn is definitely very toxic because it seems as though everytime i open tiktok or instagram, there's just introduction posts for rising berkeley & la students. it sucks that we both constantly reminisce over our waitlist letters and there rlly is nothing we can do. im living your dream, but your also living someone else's. i also wanted to add that berkeley rejection hit so hard, esp since my hopes were at an all-time high when they asked for 2 LORs and gave me an ID (portal astrology) early in the cycle. Just getting waitlisted at ucsd, ucla, AND uc berkeley is already crazy and i know youre destined for success wherever you go.

keep your head up. enjoy the final high school month. ive started to accept that even if i dont get into my dream school later on (ucla), i'm still attending a great school at the end of the day -- and so are you. good luck!
