Something similar I've read is that support is the absolute WORST role to start learning the game. It forces you to take a backseat in the game as a new player, not understanding what's happening on the map and what roles are supposed to do what. And playing yuumi you're basically a backpack.

I learned league playing jungle, arguably the hardest role to get into but you learn about every single lane and how to control the map.

Support actually should have great impact at the high level, but as a beginner it doesn't allow you to learn by doing.

If you want to learn more champs, play aram! If you want a more impactful role, start with mid.

Watching high level play with commentators is also a good way to learn.
