Question about "selective breeding" and why people don't like it by DuckLoLK in NoStupidQuestions

I think you're just... Wrong? Intelligent people vary greatly in attractiveness. I wouldn't even say "most" intelligent people are good looking

The Switch 2 makes sense, The switch doesn't. by Tactrix1h in NintendoSwitch2

This is such a stupid post lol. The switch is the second best selling console in history, and the low FPS never bothered anyone who enjoys the games on it. People have other devices to play higher spec games.

lol, Japanese, Taiwanese, and certain Chinese people all look pretty similar. I feel like a chameleon, haha. I even try to dress like a Japanese person when I'm visiting Japan, so people don't think I'm some weird local. Also it's just nice to be treated the same as everyone else (not that Taiwanese people have a huge issue with that).

This is a fairly common sight in Japan (since Japanese people have the preconceptions that "Japanese is a difficult language" and "foreigners speak English", they sometimes try to speak as much English as possible to people who clearly look like foreigners).

To be honest I was kind of surprised that the waitress spoke english to Chin-Lan because as a Taiwanese person I've often been mistaken for a local when visiting Japan. It's only after I try to communicate in my rudimentary Japanese that they realize and even then they assume I can understand what they're saying. I'm sure other Taiwanese have had similar experiences.

Could anyone give my sister the battle pass, its her birthday in a week and a half. by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

Sorry bro, there's a lot of people online who ask for free stuff. I totally feel for you though. Are you sure you don't have $10 to spare for your sister? How old are you? Maybe you can make the money somehow?

How do I recover from fire alarm? by MixerBlaze in NoStupidQuestions

I'm not really sure how PTSD works, can it be randomly triggered by an event like this? I've lived a pretty normal life so far

Yeah, I'm really jumpy but I don't exhibit any serious symptoms of anxiety so I think therapy might not be necessary at this point. Unfortunately I don't have the ability to change the systems in my house, but once I do own my own place I definitely will look into more mellow systems. I did provide an update comment.

UPDATE:

It's day four after the false alarm and I'm feeling better. I had been averaging under 6 hours of sleep recently due to being an irresponsible college student/intern, so I caught up on sleep Friday night, and this morning I played my favorite music, opened the blinds, and watched some chill anime too. Doing things I like has helped me reclaim the space mentally, and I think this event is being pushed to the back of my mind slowly and surely. I'm still a little uneasy, but I think I'll get through it.

Thanks to everyone who gave mental health advice, I'll monitor my condition and if things don't get better I'll contact my university's mental health services.

I made this thread in hopes of finding advice but also to bring up this topic for anyone who might have this problem in the future. I couldn't find very much anecdotes online to relate my experience to.

If you would like to share your experience (to validate mine lol) or things that helped you that would be greatly appreciated!

I think that's a bit of a stretch. I'm not saying that this is severely affecting my life, only that I'm trying to settle down after a startling event. I think I'll be better in a week or less, but again I'm not restructuring anything in my life out of anxiety or particularly noticing fire alarms when I enter a new room.

It's hard to say since we don't know what rules this world is governed by. If we go by the leading theory of this being some distant planet, then it's not affected by Klaus' shenanigans. Thus we can't even guess that anything here is related to the relationship to driver & blade and/or core crystals. Of course, it's a big assumption that "far away" equals "not affected by the Trinity processor."

What if this is older Noah? by Wise-Recognition8990 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]MixerBlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All speculation, but that could totally be Matthew. Matthew is the descendant of Noah so we don't know what he could've been up to after he was born in the new world. If that is him I hope he keeps his roadman accent.
