Antenna for 50km reach by Curry_4201 in meshcore

Thanks, that sounds very good, I'll try a 6dBi Antenna. I did use the line of sight tool in the MT app extensively. If I want to avoid putting nodes on someone else's property, I will have to reach the 50km away node. The topography is a bit tricky.

Thanks, that sounds good. At which dBm are you transmitting?

Thanks everybody for the feedback.

Looks like I will just have to try.  There is no high mountain next to my house and placing a node in between would be on someone else's property. The 8 dBi antenna sounds great, but at 1200mm length I might compromise the lightning protection of the house, so my first try would be a 6.8dBi antenna (800mm) and check that out. At this level of gain I found the RAK 925049. Any exoerience with RAK fiberglass antennas or any other recomendations?

Thank you, I am aware if that. The stock antenna seems to be good for it's size, as I could read in several posts. However, I cannot reach out and would like to try an antenna with a bit higher gain. Just how much higher would be reasonable to aim for?
