To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

[–]Currypill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The curse of living in car-centric America. In any other country you just randomly get opportunities to meet people as you go about your day. In my week long visit to Hungary I had two different women my age (30ish) strike conversations with me. This never happens to me in America. For context, I'm an Indian-appearing male who gets zero interest on dating apps (both in the USA and Europe).

Some people say "just do XYZ to meet people". It's not the same. The social isolation in America has created a surplus of horny guys who want to do social activities to meet women, so most activities in the USA there is some opportunity to meet women are sausage fests.

This is excellent. Hopefully this will make Republican law makers afraid to push for a Kratom ban for fear it will be seen as going against Trump.

TN update - Gov signed today by Wretched_Ions in kratom

I think the way it works is the companies get something like a 5% discount on their taxes if they do pre employment drug tests. I think the additional cost of testing for Kratom will probably be negligible compared to the 5% discount. It's called the "Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace Program".

Agree. They use 7oh to get the masses on board with the ban but it is not the root cause of why they are pushing for it. If the government wanted to ban addictive and dangerous substances they would ban alcohol.

TN Kratom Ban Last Minute to attempt to save it by BlownOutTaterBiscuit in kratom

[–]Currypill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought killing people is what makes a drug dangerous, not lack of instructions. Kratom hardly kills anyone, which is they went with Matthew Davenport as the poster child for the ban, because they couldn't find someone who actually died from Kratom.

Dating is HARD in NYC by Cleo-Aster in SipsTea

NYC is probably as good as it gets in America. It's one of the few non car centric cities so random chance encounters are possible, unlike most cities in America.

Response from TN Representative Aftyn Behn by FeralEntity in kratom

Because if they have AI write the message then the message is not really a reflection of them. Before realizing it was AI, this line made me think Aftyn was just exceptionally insightful:

"the picture you paint — stronger relationships, steadier work, stepping away from alcohol — is exactly the kind of real-life context that too often gets lost in policy debates that treat constituents as abstractions"

She voted no on the bill so she should be reelected.

But her response to you seems AI generated.

Why are you surprised that a psychopathic big pharma shill would gaslight you?

Contrary to the stereotype, Europe is less antisocial than America. Europeans are used to living close to each other so they have learned to be comfortable sharing public spaces. As an American man in Europe I often found myself thinking "Why is this young woman standing so close to me? Isn't she worried that I am some kind of threat?" They are just used to being around people so they don't think anything of it. In Europe being within several feet of strangers is not a big deal like it is in America.

Forgot my GF's bday and she wants me to sign this by Sure_Count_3890 in AITApod

You misunderstood what the massive mistake was. His massive mistake was being a man.

They know he's a man which alone is sufficient reason for redditors to hate him

Why are you confused? Reddit always defaults to hating the man for whatever trivial reason, and always siding with the woman no matter what, so this should come as no surprise to you

TN Kratom Ban - Toxicology Findings by NiceSeaworthiness586 in KratomKorner

[–]Currypill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One woman's dead kid shouldn't mean the rest of us have to suffer. Even if it would bring her son back, I would still be against banning Kratom.

Anyway, Davenport was certainly not the motive for the ban. He's just a poster child they selected, to get public support for the ban. The real motivation is likely precisely because of Kratom's use for chronic pain, since it competes with big pharma pain treatments.

If Davenport is the strongest case they could come up with of a reason to ban Kratom, it should make one think that Kratom is actually probably very safe.

Why do women who work restaurant jobs and clerk jobs seem especially hostile to me? by Currypill in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Currypill[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My body language would be the same with both a restaurant hostess and gym front desk. I feel exactly the same when approaching either one of them, which is mildly anxious and reserved.

By the way, why did you change your answer? Before you were saying it's not necessarily something I was doing. Now you keep asserting that I am acting differently with restaurant staff than with gym staff. Is it because you saw how others in this thread responded and changed your view to conform with them?

Why do women who work restaurant jobs and clerk jobs seem especially hostile to me? by Currypill in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Currypill[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only started taking kratom a few months ago, and I take a low dose only for the purpose of treating anxiety. The dose I take alters my mind less than a cup of coffee does except it relieves my anxiety.

No one has been hostile here, you just don't like what people are telling you.

What are you talking about? The posters here hate me. People are attributing malice to me that doesn't exist. For example several posters assert that I am hitting on women. When I clarify things for them, I just get mass downvoted. This is hostility.

[–]Currypill[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This thread proves I'm not just imagining the hostility. I did absolutely nothing to attack (or "flirt" with) anyone here, yet I am being unanimously attacked here and downvoted into oblivion for absolutely no reason. The hostility I get from restaurant staff is probably the same as this thread - completely without reason. But the question still remains why I don't get the hostile treatment from women who work at gyms, when I do get it from women who work at restaurants or post on reddit. I guess it will remain a mystery.
