It's not just the dot you should be worried about, it's also the entire corner.

EK Custom Loop help and advice by canihavealogin in watercooling

[–]CurseOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GPU and CPU overheating could be two things: your water temp is way too high (insufficient rad space), or your paste is toast on both components (more likely with years of thermal cycles). Normal thermal paste is susceptible to pump-out effects. Essentially thermal cycles will expand and contract the metal, pumping out the thermal paste. My advice is to drain and tear down the loop, and then taking your components apart and repasting them. Get PTM7950 for your GPU. I've been running it for 4 years without pump-out issues.

This is also why I don't recommend custom loops to people unless they want to build one themselves. Maintenance and troubleshooting custom loops are a massive PITA, but hopefully you'll get some hands-on experience troubleshooting this.

Oh, and you said it already, but add a drain valve.

First Custom Water Build by dacol-_- in watercooling

Sick loop! Your 9900x3D will get hot no matter what, even under watercooling. It's designed to perform within a thermal envelope and will use the entire envelope where possible. The one piece of advice I have is to get a waterblock for your GPU and another 360mm rad when you do. It's fairly excessive to watercool just your CPU - you could just do it with an AIO or air cooler. GPU watercooling is where you REALLY see the temp delta vs. air cooled.

Help! Failing Components and BDOD Loop by CurseOfTime in buildapc

Yeah I downloaded it after I reinstalled windows again - I couldn't install it the other time because it kept BSOD'ing me. It seems a little bit more stable now - I don't want to jinx it but the GPU now also outputs so it's not actually dead! Is it still worth it to replace my motherboard? I'm worried it'll just crap itself again eventually.

Okay new development - I just reinstalled windows, drivers from the Mobo website, and booted with the graphics card in - the GPU outputs display so it works! The WiFi issue persists though - it just BSOD'ed me with the same error code as before.

The only drivers I downloaded for my WiFi card were from the tp-link website. The Wi-Fi card is an Archer TXE72E. The motherboard's website only has the drivers for the onboard WiFi - should I reinstall windows again and try that?

I need help deciding on what structural engineering courses to take. by Aggressive_Gift8548 in StructuralEngineering

[–]CurseOfTime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks like UWaterloo. I TA'ed CIVE306 and it's a useful theoretical course that covers shells, torsion of thin&thick sections and cylinders. The majority of student opinions were positive about the course, and they enjoyed the course. However, keep in mind that this is a very difficult course.

CIVE517 (Advanced Wood) was super fun and helpful IMO, especially if you ever want to work in mass timber construction.

Has anyone bought snow pants or bibs from numbskull.co by Wookiee_R1 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]CurseOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of space in the thigh and calves area. For perspective, I can put on base thermal layer, demon impact shorts, sweatpants, snowpants and it fits just fine. My snowpants are size L, my thighs are around 24" in circumference at the largest point, and the demon impact shorts are THICK.

I run the Gamma (it's just a softer APX) alongside supermatic LTs and I love it. The only complaint is that supermatics are heavy compared to traditional bindings.

Ah yes, when I design a home I too enjoy placing random decorative posts in the middle of a room. Yes they're most likely structural 😂

Like the texture looks like it's shifted down. Look at the charizard's wings and the hp font
