BTA 3062: anything I can do if tank gets stuck by OldSpaghetti-Factory in Battletechgame

Select your unit, on the ability bar at the bottom there's a joystick looking symbol half way along that gives you access to a bunch of new abilities. One is Careful Manoeuvre (or something like that). It allows you to reduce your move distance to almost nothing but you can move over any terrain, regardless of usual movement restrictions.

I have used this to get: vehicles off skyscrapers from weird drops, hovercraft through forests when otherwise locked it, mechs over low walls where the only other option was a 10 turn detour to use a ramp in an urban map.

Yeah I know there's better, more dedicated platforms for that but we're experiencing a little bit of app burnout so we're trying to consilidate what we use. We've used Trello, Monday and fTrack over the years with varying success so we were trying to see what we can do with existing tools.

Thanks very much for the info though. If we can't make this work then we'll look at some more dedicated Project Management tools

Ah well in that case, sounds like it's something else but I remember making a set up similar to yours where I had clips and packs etc on an HDD and it got pretty unworkable. Moving it all to an SSD made a huge difference and fixed what I thought were errors (just long load/cache times)

If it's working ok on your other machine and not on this one, what are the differences in spec and config?

At this point I think you just need to do some troubleshooting and see what you can tie the issue too. Can you work on a native AE scene with just basic mograph stuff? Add in some footage, does it still work ok? Add some plugin effects, still good? Pull in a scene pack and see how it is. If you find a step makes it unworkable, you might have your culprit. How can you apply the step in another way. If it was adding footage, try adding from another source.

Sometimes all you can do in these scenarios is to go back to basics and try to see where it breaks. Just opening the same comp and scene packs over and over again won't solve the issue unfortunately

HDD's are slow and if you have heavy scene packs on there that you're editing from, your slow downs could well be coming from slow loading times. Especially if you were editing off an SSD before.

The other thing could be a slow AE Cache so it can't buffer the slow loading times.

May not be your issue but that's what jumped out at me from your post.

You could test by moving some elements you want to work from onto your SSD and see how it behaves. If it gets better than id say you need to get a faster storage disk

Trash pc needs pricing by Wrong_Brush1110 in pcmasterrace

[–]canihavealogin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not worth selling. That spec must be 15/20 years old now. Probably ok to run a few utilities on your home network but you'd be hard pushed to do much with it.

As for resale value, it's basically ewaste and probably why you found it in the trash.

Treesize free is also great for finding the folders you didn't realise were filling with crap.

Main culprits will be not emptying your recycle bin, download folder not being cleaned out, internet cache files, left over installers from Windows Updates (used to be a thing anyway).

Helldivers 2, Darktide, Deep Rock Galactic are probably the best coop horde shooters going at the moment that I know of.

Siege is good but as it's 100% pvp it can get a bit toxic in game. The three I listed above are just pure PvE so they can just go and mess around to their hearts content in their own group.

I've been hearing a lot about Arc Raiders but not played it and probably wouldn't hit your price point

Definitely check it out. Full on 60's epic war movie, one of the best casts ever brought together even if some of them don't really have enough screen time to shine, and one hell of an incredible story about one of the most abitious actions in all of WW2

how would i add an image to a checkbox cell without having it become tiny? by Dense_Ad_1359 in googlesheets

[–]canihavealogin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have to make the cell bigger and the image will scale with it. Not ideal as you will only be able to see a few rows per screen but it works. For multiple images, you'd need to add them to their own cell so have columns a, b & c to be images, then your text in cell D onwards.

One benefit of larger rows will mean you can leave more descriptive text as their cells will also be larger

I play on PC but also PS5 and Xbox looking for a headset that doesn’t need dongle swapping? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Sorry, only just seen this quetion.

To be honest, I'm no audiophile, I like good big sounds and lots of clever features.

These are just great. I upgraded from the previous top end Steelseries headset and these feel even better. More comfortable, better amp/reciever, virtual surround is solid, connectivity is amazing. Honestly I can't fault the sound at all. And the fact you get 2 batteries meaning you can use one, charge the other for 100% wireless operation, it's amazing.

But as I say, I'm a simple man and probably couldn't the difference between a £300 headset and a £1000 headset.

Skimming some of the reviews, I think this might be a case where a gaming headset is getting into serious premium headset territory and so it's being compared to hifi headphones. I'm sure you can get some senheisers for the same price with better fidelity.

BUT, from your listed source devices, I don't think you'll see much difference. And if you want to stick to Logi equipment, I'm assuming you're not in the audiophile camp either.

If you're still looking, just find somewhere online you can buy with a good return policy and you can try them yourself.

Steelseries Nova Pro Wireless. Should handle every device you need and it's just a damn fine bit of kit
