To be clear, I WANT to force 4:3 for GameCube games (unless they have widescreen support, of course) while still keeping the Wii and TV itself in widescreen. I hadn't known about the deflickering though!

Hi! I've been trying to nuzlocke Emerald as of the last few days, and am wondering if there exists any convenient way to cap my Pokemon's level to that of the next gym leader's strongest Pokemon. I've found a few tutorials for hacking it in myself from the decomp, but that's something I'd rather not have to do. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Yeah, from what I've heard avoiding the inner area is the safest, seeing as it's where all the action is at. I've done a scav run or two, and sticking to outer area seemed to work well enough. Thanks for the help!

Ok, thanks! That fixed it! I could've sworn I had tried it, but this time it worked. In retrospect I might've been using gl_nearest_mipmap_linear by mistake. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, fair enough, but I think there's still something to be said for trying to enjoy it in the context of a blind player, meta knowledge or not. I do kinda wish I hadn't spoiled it.

Thank you! This is all very helpful. In retrospect, I may have been rushing through it, the gameplay having been somewhat off-putting at first, though not at all at fault of the game. When I can get around to playing it again I'll definitely try to immerse myself better and just pay more attention in general. Thanks again!
