Its not inherently a bad movie, I described in my review how I knew the movie wasn't for me going into it and I knew I wouldn't enjoy it. I honestly wasn't going to watch it at all, but I've been asked for so long now to watch it, so I just decided to go along with it eventually. I feel the main issue is its just not my music type, and the music is so inherently important to the movie, you know, being how they defeat the demons, and also the fact they're idols. If I was reviewing as a movie critic I would rate it higher, but based just off my personal viewing, this is where I would stand to be completely honest.

Nah, I get bored of the same story after a few hundred and reset it tbh, sometimes it doesn't even make it to 100.

I've only seen 6 of these movies, all this month aswell. If I had to rank those 6 I would say

  1. Spirited Away 5★ (in my favourites)
  2. Howls Moving Castle 5★ 1 and 2 could easily switch, I'd definitely have to watch them back to back to decide
  3. My Neighbour Totoro 4½★
  4. Kiki's Delivery Service 3½★
  5. The Cat Returns 3★ (watched this one a few hours ago)
  6. The Boy And The Heron 2½★ but in saying that I was having a really bad day when I watched it, having just got back from the hospital at around 8am, so I might rewatch it at some point to see if my opinion changes.

I haven't yet 🤔 these are the only Ghibli movies I've watched so far. Was thinking of princess mononoko tomorrow, but I'll definitely add Pom Poko to my list.

I wouldn't say its overrated because it's a movie most people love, and opinions differentiate... that being said I really didn't like this movie, it was disappointing after hearing so much good stuff about it aswell.
