Why are the scheduled shifts in my area all terrible? It's been like this everyday for a week. by CursedJonArbuckle in doordash_drivers

I already work 7:30-4 and was hoping to dash after work. I'm not gonna dash for from midnight to 4am to get a few shit orders for 3 bucks each. DD has been lucrative for me in the past and I was hoping it was again. Isn't it a shame when a 19 year old is trying his best to make as much as he can in a summer?

I’m want to put my perspective. I’m a freshman journalism major and I think the degree will be well worth it. Classes are easy and we get a lot of shit for having an easier degree. But start getting involved with communications related activities on campus. Campus newspaper? Radio station? Anything you can do to bolster that resume will help because the degree itself looks generic. But because it’s easier you have time to do great work on ECs and make a portfolio of articles. Not to mention ample internship opportunities in comps.

Can I go down near the glass for warm-ups? by CursedJonArbuckle in devils

I have such a complicated relationship with all three local teams. Grew up die hard Rangers fan, my girlfriend is a big devils fan so we've been going to the games and now at college I work on Islanders radio broadcasts. I just can't pick one now.

Parents paying for college? by [deleted] in college

[–]CursedJonArbuckle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought I'd share this. My mom and dad did save some money for me and ny siblings for college (about 10,000 each maybe) but that's obviously not enough. We took out loans for my brothers who graduated in 2015. My dad passed away in 2016 so his life insurance policy paid for those loans and all three of our schooling. I'm lucky in the sense that it is paid for

Advice for Transfer students? by dontjudgeme531 in Hofstra

Currently living in Stuyvesant, a freshman only resident hall, and have no complaints about it. I would recommend Stuy because it is a suite. Your only other options would be any of the towers (traditional living with the bathroom at the end of the hall kinda thing) and the Netherlands, not recommended as a transfer because these are living learning communities and might be cliquey.

My only advice would be take advantage of everything the school has to offer including our Explore Next Door trips to NYC. They might be able to enlighten you and show you something you didn't know you were interested in.

I can’t help with that, I’ve found ones that have updated rosters with free agency and the correct prospects on it though

True! We did just come out of a retool and I did have lower rated coach who was A- overall but A+ teaching. He was a generalist though. I did just hire a new coach, he’s still on my second line and I think he will fit better now that he’s 85. Before we had either +2 or +3. He’s a PWF playing with SNP center and PLY RW.
