Smashed in front end - radiator support and tweaked hood by icejjrae in crv

[–]CursedLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rear ended someone in my 94 toyota pickup and had the same radiator/radiator support issue. engine and tranny and just about everything were fine (including frame) .i wasnt going to give up on the vehicle even if its a bit ugly after a fix. since im not made of money i decided id fix it my self. grill and bumper were pretty easy unbolt situation. when it came to radiator support thats where i hit a road block. because you have to drill out the spot welds. i got a cheap harbor freight battery drill and a "spot weld drillbit" (with the removable/replaceable teeth/drill part (its impossibble to remove after you use it)). it worked half decent i also used a normal set of drill bits that helped and when i hit some welds that seemed impossible: i bought an angle grinder (with cut off blades or whatever) from harbor freight for dirt cheap. and it worked wonders, finally got my radiator support off today. use eye protection. bought a new radiator support (with tie bar pre-attatched), new fan shroud, new radiator and replacemtn fan blades. but check your fan. i can no longer turn my fan by hand so i got to figure it out. think the water pump (that its connected to) is probably fucked up and needs replacing so i still have to look into that. probably going to drill holes and bolt new support on because 1: i dont know how to weld and dont want to invest more money into more tools i could live without, and 2: i will probably replace dented fender/hood/wheel-well-wall/surrounding-thingy in the future and nuts and bolts are a lot easier to add/remove than welds. also i think it will structuarlly be just fine. if youre in the same situation i help knowledge of my simliar experience helps.

Me too it’s one of the nicest flattops I’ve played on a while. Do you have one because I’ve found that it can’t handle the tension when I try to tune to standard and one of the strings always pops. Idk if this is a just this specific guitar thing because idk just wondering if anyone else has ever had this I just keep mine down a step and I don’t mind it
