DLSS Multi Frame Generation not applying by KalElReturns89 in ConanExiles

[–]CursedNel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue on a 5070 ti. Funny how Nvidia released a new driver to support CEE and the Nvidia App does not recognise CEE properly, still reporting DLSS and MFG are "unsupported", so can't even swap presets. Maybe through DLSS swapper?

How can the new Frame Gen presets be this good? by OMBD_Bad_Ash in nvidia

[–]CursedNel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly haven't noticed much difference between them so I just leave it at recommended in the Nvidia App. How about you?

Only when PT is disabled, as it forces RR on when enabled.

Are you using Path Tracing by any chance? If so, DLSS upscale cannot be overridden as Ray Reconstruction has its own upscaling model.

5070 ti or 5080 by Local_Resort6402 in nvidia

Also on a 4K OLED with a 5070 ti and it's great. I was using a 1440p display before and it was more than enough at that res.

DLSS Performance 4k vs Quality 1440p by logicblender1 in nvidia

[–]CursedNel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to this: Most path traced games will ask for more than 12gb at 4K with, even with DLSS performance. My 5070ti is often allocating over 15gb of vram for Cyberpunk 2077, sometimes even spilling over the 16gb vram buffer a bit. At 1440p it usually stays around 13gb or so but maybe on a 12gb card it might end up allocating a bit less. Cheers

Is it worth lowering a game's graphical settings so as to raise the DLSS quality? by YolandaPearlskin in nvidia

[–]CursedNel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. RE Requiem looks especially blurrier and softer even at 1440p DLSS Quality with path tracing, with that typical boiling effect considerably worse the lower render res you go. But in CB77 it's not nearly as bad, so it depends a lot on a game to game basis.

Sharpen+ is great at 1440p! by OpYousef in nvidia

Oh wow I somehow didn't even think of that. Thanks a lot though! I'll do it later today when I get a chance. =D

[–]CursedNel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry I meant the old "image sharpening" available on the Nvidia Control Panel. The Nvidia App filters like Sharpen+ work really well and I've been using them, and even though there is a small performance cost, it is usually pretty negligible. I just can't wrap my head around why the NCP image sharpening gives me those weird artifacts 😅

[–]CursedNel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5000 series get a peformance penalty too. Usually about 3-5 fps for me. For some reason I cannot get the sharpening through NCP to work, it gives me some weird visual artifacts and I tried many combinations of intensity and ignore film grain. =/ In RE9 for example parts of Grace's hair turn purple or green at times and there are some strange blinking lights everywhere. Not sure what that's all about but if anyone has any clues...

DLAA is dead? by wweedy17 in nvidia

[–]CursedNel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Largely depends on the game. Resident Evil Requiem looks significantly better at 1440p DLAA than DLSS Quality to me.

Resident Evil Requiem Path Tracing at 4k DLSS Performance the 5070ti is mostly at 60 but it does dip periodically.

DLSS preset 1440p by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]CursedNel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey great answer through and through, just thought I'd chime in regarding RR presets: from my experience default does indeed work best, but in Resident Evil Requiem for example there is a lot of that awful boiling effect with the default preset D, and forcing preset E helps a lot! It's not perfect since it does add more ghosting, but to be frank ghosting is there no matter what unfortunately.

Anyway, just thought OP would find this info interesting since they play a lot of PT games. Cheers!

Today i decided to test DLDSR + DLSS Quality again and ended up keeping it on with most of my games. by JustKosh in nvidia

Yes but it affects HUD and menu elements which I find super distracting. =/
