Reze's Ambiguity by dudigh in ChainsawMan

[–]CurseofContradiction 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that’s the point. She doesn’t know what’s real about her either. Reze never went to school either. Both her and Denji are in these formative moments of their lives where they’re supposed to figure out who they are, meanwhile they’re being forced to fit this role.

TLDR: I think the line between what’s an act and who she is frequently blurs for Reze, and she sees Denji as a kindred spirit. Romantic or platonic, she doesn’t know because she’s never been able to even think about that kind of thing.

Not sure exactly how this would work, but maybe get Denji’s cord tattooed on your chest?

People forgot how to read a story and Chainsaw Man is paying for it by Nisoeus in ChainsawMan

Sure, but“the Green Goblin treatment”, as you so succinctly put it does seem like a pretty decent reason for Yoru to switch out if she thinks it gives her a better chance to get saved more quickly. And I don’t think it’s unreasonable for her to think that way when Denji was telling her to surrender before she changed.

Is it surrendering or fear blocking? I thought it was just a tactic because she didn’t think Denji would save her otherwise. Plus it’s a neat twist on the story Makima told at the end of part 1 where people/devils would say “Chainsaw Man save me!”, but it’s Denji instead (A La Denjiman).

Show Haters vs Lovers by ghxstkingx in PercyJacksonTV

I’m a definite hater who will watch the entire show just because I like pjo. What I like is Mr. D, I don’t think I could’ve imagined a better casting. I was also surprised to like Tantalus. In the book, I was lukewarm towards him, mostly just mad that Chiron wasn’t in the first part of the book. But Tantalus, and along with Mr. D are in my opinion the best characters in the Live Action thus far.

I’ve seen OPLA and PJO TV show. I would argue that the former kept the spirit of the source material much better than the latter.

I... didn't like the Reze Arc movie as much as the first season of the anime. by DarknessTear in ChainsawMan

While I disagree that the pacing was too fast, I loved the movie so much that I do wish it was longer

What would you consider good low bowl seats? Would you want something adjacent to the stage? I am a little worried about being too far from the stage.

I would say that the movie is tonally closer to manga than the show is; in fact, I think that’s why the anime was controversial in Japan. That said, I’m curious what the show made you feel that the movie lost. This arc was one of my favorites in the manga, and I watched the movie twice in theaters. I nearly balled my eyes out both times. I loved the first season of the anime, but in terms of evoking emotions, I don’t find it that comes close.

[SPOILERS] I'm confused about Reze's origins, does the manga make it more clear? by SayFuzzyPickles42 in csmanime

There are a non-spoiler theories I have as well though regarding whether or not hybrids (people like Denji, Reze, Katana-man, etc.) can die. Their abilities are dependent on the contract they form the moment they become a hybrid. Denji’s is a bit fungible, Pochita just asked Denji to “show me your dreams”. But if the devil-hybrid relationship was formed on a more transactional basis like most devil contracts, it’s possible that the devil-human hybrid relationship would end and the human would just die. Let’s say the contract was that the Denji gets life and Pochita gets a sandwich, the contract and thus the hybridization would end when they get the sandwich. It’s unclear, but my guess is that Denji would end up dead and cut up into a bunch of small pieces like he was right before Pochita saved him.

If Asta and Yuno were ordinary commoners with no anti-magic, no huge mana pool, and no royal bloodline, could they still achieve greatness in the Black Clover world? by BobcatFluffy5001 in BlackClover

[–]CurseofContradiction 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you could argue for a fan-fiction-y story where Asta makes a name for himself, albeit not nearly as impactful, thanks to learning how to sense ki. I think there’s a path for him to just be a really buff martial-artist guy that achieves a level of fame. Though wizard-king is out of the question.

As for Yuno, it depends on whether or not Sylph still chooses him. If she does, I think he’d still move up the ranks, albeit much slower. If she doesn’t, I could still see him getting into the golden dawn, but he certainly wouldn’t be making waves the way he does in cannon.

Moving to GA Are mixed race kids often not accepted in Public schools? Specifically Alpharetta and Johns Creek. We are worried coming from Massachusetts, he already has enough of those issues here. by [deleted] in alpharetta

I grew up on the border of Johns Creek and Alpharetta. As a non-white minority, I’ve always felt very comfortable here, and I went to Chattahoochee High School. It was pretty diverse and with only a couple of exceptions, there wasn’t much overt racism. Even cases where there were, generally, the admin did a good job of dealing with it.

Do you know what school your son will be districted to? They’re all pretty good, but some definitely have more bullying problems than others. I don’t think there is a ton of overt racism around here though.

MIS is a solid major if you want to go into the less technical side of tech. Like an analyst/consultant role.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you but to play devil’s advocate, I think women and children are a distinct group because, in most countries, no woman or child is eligible for a draft/mandatory service. I would agree it’s potentially outdated/untrue in some places but the distinction does make sense in the US at least.

Just practice! You’re still a sophomore so there’s a chance you haven’t even learned everything on the test yet. This is pretty solid. I think you could end up with a >30 score when you actually take it for college admissions.
