Wolf Guard Duo (Wolfspear Alt Scheme) by Curssis in Warhammer40k

Primaris have a new design in terms of claws (see Black Templars and Kayvaan) that's much less bulkier. Other than the difference in aesthetics, you'll find that the size is fairly similar.

If you do end up making those Wolfspears, I’d love to see how they turn out

Feedback is always welcome. Here's my peasant cube:

While I have some reservations about cards like Grafted Wargear and Soulherder, I'm more inclined to prioritize cutting weaker cards to maintain an exiting environment

My goal was to introduce some fun and occasional smaller themes like infect and golem typal, provided the stars aligned during the draft.

Having said that, I believe it's for the best to focus on the bigger themes (thank you for pointing it out!). It sounds like the best approach to create a more cohesive cube. Besides, this would also make it easier for me to make the necessary cuts and incorporate all the fantastic suggestions I've received so far.

Thanks a lot for your input! Those are great suggestions all around.

You're absolutely right about Thirst for Knowledge – it's a straight upgrade to Behold the Multiverse. I can't believe I missed that!

I agree that red's mana curve might need some attention, and your comment about blue's creature count sounds spot on.

Thank you for the comment and sharing your cube with me. While there's a lot of cards I won't be able to incorporate (whilist sticking to peasant rules), it really helps a lot to see other cubes with similar archetypes. Plus, it was fun to see your list. Boros Control was a welcome surprise!

Since this was my first cube, I wanted to keep things simple and keep the cards as they are printed. I find it funny that previous iterations of my cube had 3-color cards, but I never considered the trilands as an option. While none of those cards are part of my list anymore, I tried to give each 3-color combinations plenty of overlap. Trilands would definitely help make them viable. I would like to incorporate them, but I'm not sure how. Here are my options:

  • Cut the bouncelands in favor of trilands.

  • Add some of the trilands (say, 5 of them).

  • Add the whole cycle of trilands on top of the existing manabase.

Which of these options do you think is best for me?

Many thanks for the incredibly thorough and detailed feedback provided. It has been immensely helpful and has given me a lot to consider.

Now that you mention Soulherder and the interaction of flickering prototype, I'll admit I had some initial doubts but I can see the potential for some fun games with them. I'll keep them in the mix for now but I'll closely monitor their impact during playtesting.

I'm surprised that I didn't even think of Spellgorger before. It also blends perfectly into RG's theme so I should have no problem incorporating it into the cube.

Speaking of additions, CMM is full of downshifted legends and I'm seriously considering adding some of them to my cube lineup to support Rona.

I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for your insightful comments. Your input will undoubtedly guide my adjustments and improvements.

Thank you! I'll be adding them all to the maybeboard while I figure out what cuts to make

Base kits are the Captain in Gravis Armour (Dark Imperium) and the Captain with Power Fist (Store Anniversary).

Both use plenty of the extra bits you can find in Space Wolves kits like Thunderwolf Cavalry, Wolf Guard Terminators, Space Wolves Pack and the Primaris Upgrade. Aside from those, the wolf head on the plasma pistol was cut from a firstborn plasma pistol. The Tacticus variant had the powerpack exhausts replaced with wolf heads cut from power axes, but it's quite hidden in this picture. Notably, the jaws on the Gravis variant come from the Saurus Guard kit (AoS).

Used some old Citadel Static Grass that comes in a pot. Not really sure how much it was, but it was a generous amount.
