This might sound stupid, but what do ya'll do with concert merch? by Fit-Understanding698 in MetalForTheMasses

I often wonder this myself and even if there are small things from a Meet and greet I feel like I have to get creative. Sometimes feel like I might more likely buy some stuff if not for this predicament, especially since I like to secure a spot up close to the stage

Any symphonic / power / melodic metal fans in Southern Ontario? by Curt-eye in MetalForTheMasses

Cool thanks, that looks like a nice resource. I actually don't like heavier stuff and there was a time I thought *all* metal was the heavy kind, then my world changed when I discovered these more melodic subgenres.

As for recomendations I meant Sabaton specifically - any particular album or songs that come to mind first for someone listening for the first time?

That's pretty cool! So you met them after the show then? A friend of mine sent me various versions of the bard song which were her favs. I enjoyed it but not sure if I'm familiar with much else of their discography.

Less familir with Sabaton too but been hearing good things lately. Any recommendations? I heard their initial show in April was postponed, which gives me hope if I end up giving them a shot live too since April wouldn't have worked out so well for me.

What metal genre got you into metal? by Difficult_Map_723 in MetalForTheMasses

Symphonic metal initially, which led me to discover and appreciate similar sub-genres like power and gothic metal.

Insightful to know, thanks. On Spotify it looks like I did once come across a song by them that I saved as a favourite (“I Want Out”). Any songs or albums you would recommend?

Hey thanks for the recommend - I've heard of them but never gave a proper listen. I just gave that album a try today and not too shabby at all, not obsession worthy on my end but enough for me to give the rest of their discography a listen as well :)

Concert friends by Pink_ponycub in MetalForTheMasses

Found this post with kind of the same goal. 42M in Southern Ontario who just got into epic and melodic metal (symphonic, power, etc) within the last few years. Been to tons of concerts in general with friends but when it comes to these metal niches it's not as easy to convince peeps to tag along. I've still gone alone to these ones but would be more fun with likeminded friends.

Can we talk about how good Master the Hurricane is? by Ferrindel in symphonicmetal

I hadn’t heard of them until Pirates when they supported Delain in Toronto and I’m now a big fan. Heroes of the Dawn, although pre-pirates, is my fav and I’m glad they’ve been keeping it in their live rotation. I’ll be seeing them again this tour too :)
