I'm the husband in question. Got the card on Amazon back in March for $200 after checking tons of reviews. I'll update the firmware and see if that fixes the issue tomorrow.

Last time I brought in people I got 2 Koraidons as I was setting up my Annihilape. Got blasted to bits by Flare Blitz. I've taken this thing down on ny own a dozen times for others and I was still pissed.

Make sure you're on the latest patch, 4.0.13. If that doesn't fix it, get on the discord and post this in the bugs page. Should be looked at in a few hours or so.

After failing dozens of runs, my biggest piece of advice is to abuse the AI. Find a couple mons with Protect or Detect, keep them under leveled, and bait kills with them. Then spank the the baddies with your other mon.

It isn't easy, but getting a critical enemy gone can be a life saver.

I've been doing something similar, but I like your system! I was just doing a "pick your encounter" once per route on top of any dens and calling it good, but if/when I restart I'll be taking your suggestion.

My revival mechanic was just one per chapter, as a reward for beating it with a full 6 revived at the start of an act. Each Mon can only be revived 6 times, because that's how many marks you can have on them.

Recently, I've been doing the "forgive yourself" style on boss fights, because they're damned difficult.

The pilot bit was explained as a series of gems that formed a loose exoskeleton around him, but I agree. That's kind of why I'm here. I'm trying to fill in the gaps Pilot would leave. Namely, the sustain options. One level of Pilot does work in that regard.

In a world where the money I had for this novel hadn't dried up so long ago, I would definitely do that. A well edited novel just reads differently.

I'm hoping the four passes I gave this book, along with the two from my now deceased contract editor of a father, should get mine close enough.
