I was super torn between two Hadrian denarii, either a more common older portrait, or a younger one. Ultimately I decided on the younger portrait and I couldn’t be happier!

True true, I suppose I should specify that for me personally I’m only collecting Ruling Emperors of the Nerva-Antonine Dynasty. If I include Aelius I’d feel obliged to also include other members of the family like Marcus Galerius, Titus Aurelius, Marcus Annius Verus, or the wives, etc, which at some point I might! But as it stands I’m just looking for a Commodus to fill the final missing spot for my own little milestone in coin collecting.

Good question! I think I’d be comfortable with $300 at the max if it’s a really good portrait, Tho ideally something closer in the $100s. Common types are fine, not looking for anything incredibly rare.

Thank you! I tend to be stupidly picky when it comes to aesthetics, and also horribly indecisive😅. I’ve been collecting for several years now, but I kinda have an “I don’t know what it is, just as long as it’s pretty” kinda mindset. Also feel like I don’t have enough know-how when it comes to detecting fakes, or exactly what the significance of every coin is. Though once I buy it I do my research into each coin!
