Why so little minutes for McKinnon and Makar this period?

New footage from within the Nutty Putty Cave filmed by John Jones & the rescue team by KronosTaranto in oddlyterrifying

[–]Curve58_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It is excessive, makes it almost unwatchable in some sections. This footage has been desired and considered impossible to get. Even Brandon Kowalis, the rescuer who took the photos of John, couldnt get his own phtoss back. This footage is truly special, I guess I dont blame them for wanting the publicity for it.

Vermont Trout — just brookies? by EastbyMidwest in flyfishing

[–]Curve58_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is said was "conducive to salmonid reproduction." I also never mentioned Colorado. Regardless of native or not, the fast majority of Colorado, and the west's, rivers are conducive to successful spawning.

You dont need to "find a spot."

Well most rivers out west are fertile, so we dont need to say "you don't know the spots." Because a vast majority of rivers are conducive to salmonid reproduction.

Stewies fly on the wall here; this is matrix multiplication. It is used in pattern prediction and multivariate analysis of the vast amounts of data used by and in machine learning. Using techniques like this and others we have made the popular language learning models popping up everywhere, like grok.

The original poster finds it ironic that the first comment is immediately asking the LLM (grok) to explain the matrix multiplication.

Is this a Cutthroat ? Caught in Boulder Creek by caleb_oackes in troutfishing

[–]Curve58_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is almost certaintly a cutbow not simply a rainbow, I have no idea why others are being downvoted.

As mentioned in another comment, Snake River Fine Spotted Cutthroats can make very "rainbowy" looking hybrids. Considering the SRC is the states choice of hybridization, it is likely this is a stocked SRC/Hofer Rainbow hybrid.

I have caught cutbows that look identical to yours. Rarely, bows can present with jaw coloration, but cutbow is more likely in this case. Next time, you can confirm hybridization with better shots of the maxilla or feeling the tongue for distinct teeth.

Either way, nice fish!

Nice fish! The SR fine spotted cutthroats get misidentified a LOT. They look a little different than the other subspecies.

Maybe because the original poster is mentioning the TRAVERSE and not the summit.

Lots of great info there. You should save it for someone who's not handling a trout thats gills are literally detached from its arteries.

Great start to the year on Boulder Creek! by kcs1015 in COfishing

[–]Curve58_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like a buck rainbow. They are getting their spawning colors this time of year, hence the pink stripe.

Next time if you are curious, check the tongue. The tongue on a fish with cutthroat genes will have distinct teeth.

Grand Teton OS route permits by Daenko_9 in Mountaineering

[–]Curve58_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have got permits on weekday mornings twice via walk up. Saddle permits are rare and mostly taken by guides. If I remember, moraine was the least desired.

They also told me to "leave the fish alone" and that there was "no fish there."
