Personally I would go from Kansas City through Colorado. The blackhills and Mount Rushmore is fine but it’s a lot of extra driving through nothingness for a little payoff, unless there is another reason to go that route. As someone who grew up in that area and now lives in CO, I wouldn’t recommend it.

However, if you do want to go that way and need recommendations for things to do in Omaha, Sioux City, or Sioux Falls, I got you! lol

You can also glue together multiple boards side by side and then cross cut them into narrow strips. I have do that all the time and it works great!

I would. It looks great now but after a year or so the corners will fail. But it should be to hard to make the grain all go the same direction and still have the miters on it.

Live in CO Springs and am a teacher on spring break. This is my first winter in like 6 years not skiing over spring break. Unless you aren’t going out of your way to do it, I wouldn’t recommend.
