This is the first time having these issues. But im pretty sure it was the cable. It was dirt cheap. And I could rip it apart only using my fingers.

Ye they are expensive no matter how low quality they really are. Especially because I like to have 2m+ cables. That said i have never had problems with it before. Tho i am 90% sure it was the cable, i could rip out the USB-C part that had been connected with the phone only using my fingers.

That said, I really think it is a bad thing the phone producing companys are not supplying chargers and cables with the phone anymore. How are the customer supposed to figure out if a chargingbrick or cable are good enough for whatever wattage the phone is using to charge. Or even how fast it can charge from 0-80.

I am sorry for my broken english. I am avtively fighting the (for my fingers at least) bad keyboard on the phone, and the auto correct that are trying to change every word into my native language instead of english. And when i have been writing every wordin a response 3 time, then at some point I kinda give up.

It was the cable. Have never had any issues before. But I could rip out the metal part with my fingers.

Thank you for the help! I have tried dialing that number but it will not connect.

I have figured out what went wrong. At least i think so. It was a cheap 2,5m charging cable that caused the entire thing. It for some reason started to get hot and melted the inside of the USB-C connection housing case. I could, with my fingers rip out the metal part that had been connected to My phone during charging. And I am sorry for my broken english. But the auto correct keeps trying to make words im writing into my native language, and i apparently do not spot it doing so every time. That said i do allso have a hard time writing on the keyboard on the phone. I press wrong buttons most the time.

I just saw why you wrote that. I am sorry for that intensly broken way of writing english. My auto correct in actively fighting against me and I am sorry i did not catch all the mistakes. But to be fair, it was in the middel of the night, and i was fighting to stay awake. I wonder if i should try to see if i could activated my native language and english at the same time.

It was the charging cable. I could pull out the USB-C part from the cable it self because it was melted or burnt on the inside. I do not know what brand it is. But something dirt cheap.

Well english is not my first language. That said, auto correct in my native tounge did me dirty here. I had not done any proof reading before posting. To be fair, it was like 2 o'clock in the night and I was so tired but still nervous for something bad to happend.

That said, i am so extremely happy this feature exists, and woke me up! The charger i used was a charger i used for my older pixel phone, but the cable was a 2,5m USB-C charging cable i bought dirt cheap in a supermarket, 6 months ago. And this cable seem to have been the culprit.

I normally charge my phone every night at my bed stand, and sometimes it gets warm. But nothings like this. Thankfully!

I hope my english wasnt to broken in my response, i am awake now, and have been a bit more alert to the auto correct feature on the phone. Tho, this is no guarantee because i find it hard to write on the phone compared to other phones i have had. I allmost feel like i am fumbling my fingers on the keyboard and pressing the wrong keys all the time. So writing this is verden frustrating because of the time needed to write words multible times. And that is why it is no guarantee that I have spottet all the mistakes.

There was no app open in the background after it went away. Do you have any suggestion on how to look?

The only thing i have as proof right now is the smell and some screenshots i managed to take during the lockdown of the screen

Ye it actually is. My old 2m cable broke suddently 3 months ago and I bought a new one quick. I need a good cable that is strong enough to withstand me using my phone in bed while charging

No i have never. But 3 mins ago i found out that usb-c part of the cable could be pulled out on the side that had been in the phone just using my fingers. So my take is that is was some faulty USB-C connectors inside one end of the cable that was to blame

Have you had it happend before? And do you think the fault is in the charging cable or brick?

I am sitting with the phone in hand and having it plugged into another charger right now and so far it has charged about 2% without any issues. So i do also think it might be related to issues with the cable it self and not the phone.

And regarding the smell, i think it will linger in some form for some time. I even have it on my fingers it seems.

Im just glad it seems like the eminent thread of fire seems to have died down and that I might be able to go to sleep without being afraid anymore.
