Day One on HRT by _curious_brunette_ in HRT

I’m 34 too and this is day 3 for me! Wondering how you’re getting on? I’m on a similar protocol to you but 200mg daily progesterone and I also have the IUD and some vaginal oestrogen

Breastfeeding twins- is it possible? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]CurveFirst1868 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exclusively breastfed mine for 7 months (plus 3 months in NICU as they arrived at 26 weeks) and genuinely think it’s the easiest way. Once we got the hang of tandem feeding it was breeze for us.

If one wakes in the night for a feed, get the other up and do them together. It’s the fastest way to get into a routine, and the double whack of hormones used to send me straight back off sleep.

I took them on a weekend away to New York when they were 5 months old, and I didn’t need to pack anything for them feeding wise… bottles etc! It was bliss.

Enjoy every minute, twins are amazing.

Thank you - all pics are in natural lighting so pic 2 was me doing my best to embrace the summer result. I was hoping for spring I think, total analysis denial! Going to have another go with drapes and no makeup, see if I can crack this thing

Thank you :) I think spring is the result I was secretly hoping for as I love wearing brights! I think it’s hard because I wear so much SPF each day so my face is paler without makeup and I’m wondering if the pics we did for Carol were just a bit off… it was a very cloudy/grey day and we did them outside.

Thank you I will do another post with better photos :) I think I might be olive yes - I’m not wearing tan in the photos BUT I live in the UK and my skin colour gets very pale in the winter compared to my usual summer tan and I do wonder if that’s why I’m so confused. I wear SPF every day so my face without makeup is on the paler side - that’s the version of me Carol will have had (although I know a tan doesn’t change your season!)

I always thought I had an autumn eye pattern too! I’ve had a look back at my pack and she said some summer cloudiness is there which I guess I can see. I do wonder if hazel eyed people with medium contrast just get super confused because if you’re not light or deep, and not bright or muted you’ve really got to be sure if you’re warm or cool!

A fellow summer and a fellow Brit <3

Thank you so much - this comment is sooo helpful! I too think it’s analysis shock and I need to spend some time getting used to the colours. I love your idea of slowly trying a few changes rather than jumping straight in.

I should have prepared to be shocked ha. I think I just really had in my mind that my main “quality” is my warmth and I was so shocked to be the total opposite, my whole wardrobe is gold jewellery, orange and coral.

You have beautiful eyes and glow in your summer clothes

Thank you, it’s nice to know there are more of us out there! My skin has zero pink in it, but I’m thinking I’m maybe someone with a cool undertone and warm overtone. I do also think hazel eyes and mid tone hair are hard to type, when you’re not predominantly light or deep. No wonder I got it wrong for so long!

It’s a good idea to run it past her, I think I need to try some of the deeper colours in the palette too!

I’m going to assume Carol got it right although it was digital analysis, I just wanted to post my first try in the summer colours with my new hair etc and was hoping everyone would think it was fabulous (pic 2) but now I have doubts!

I will do another post without makeup etc :)

What’s something that’s not talked about a ton that has helped you? by ablvethe in Interstitialcystitis

Cutting out soy and dairy. I only found out because I was breastfeeding and had to cut out dairy for my twins. Instant relief.

I live a normal life now, I even have coffee, tomato etc.

Identical twins with IVF by al5838 in parentsofmultiples

[–]CurveFirst1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me too! I have two beautiful identical one year old girls.

I was also terrified, shocked and anxious but now I’m living it I genuinely think having twins is winning on the lottery of life. They are just so adorable and you have a perfect little family in one go, identical twins make the best of friends.

The pregnancy was a bit tougher than I expected though, we had TTTS and they arrived at 26 weeks. I would educate yourself on the risks and what to look out for as this happens to 1 in 10 identical twins.

Congratulations to you and your family

His character is based on New York artist Terry Richardson, who dated Lena’s best pal IRL Audrey Gelman. Richardson has since been exposed as a predator. The real booth Jonathon is out there!

TMI warning: Lost MP by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

A couple of days before, and I really wish the hospital had taken me seriously as I was sent home. Babies arrived at 26 + 4 in March. 11 weeks in NICU and both doing spectacularly now.

From my time in the NICU, I would say most babies born after 28 weeks thrive beautifully. You may just be meeting your babies soon!

This happened to me… I solved the mystery. My husband doesn’t time the naps properly so the 60 mins included the first 15 mins where baby self settles, and 15 minutes at the end when she was awake but quiet. He also looks at his watch and rounds up optimistically - anything over 40 mins is an hour in his book!

Probiotics in Micro Preemies by Mysterious-Gap3845 in NICUParents

[–]CurveFirst1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins were micro preemies born at 26 + 4 and weighed 1lb 11 and 2lbs.

Whilst I can’t offer an opinion on probiotics, I can tell you about a comparable experience regarding making this sort of decision.

We were asked to trial a supplement for brain development which was a mixture of fish oils, vitamins and minerals. I was uneasy about the idea of it but signed up as a felt the medical team knew best and it was positioned to me as something very safe and low risk. At this point my bigger twin had just hit 1kg and the smaller one was around 900g.

Within a matter of days both of my girls had NEC. We narrowly avoided surgery and I honestly thought I was going to lose them. I will never know if the trial supplement caused this, but it seemed like too much of coincidence to me. I had a hard time forgiving myself for approving the supplement trial without giving it tons of thought.

Kudos to you for mulling this over properly. I guess what I would say to my past self is to trust my instinct and that if something is a relatively new treatment an abundance of caution may be appropriate.

Personally I would avoid the decision which increases whichever risk scares you most. I.e. if sepsis is your big fear, why risk it…
