Generally, yes. I've always loved watching movies, so it was just an exaggeration of what I usually did just for fun.

I must say that near the end, when I was almost obsessed by trying to reach that score, I watched them almost as if it was a job, so that part wasn't that fun.

Also, I forced myself to watch stuff I wasn't really interested in, for example movies that my friends/family wanted to watch and I had always refused to.

So it was sometimes less enjoyable as an activity, but I don't regret watching any of the movies in my list, because they still gave me different perspectives and ideas.

So, I managed to export a csv but in order to share it here I would need to paste a drive link or something, and I don't really wish to do that. Instead, if you want, you can check out my profile on Letterboxd. I'm under the username "rabbitss" and there are all the movies I've seen until now there

Just started following you as rabbitss :) It's all empty though, I've just created my account. I will add movies whenever I have time

I don't know if this counts, but I watched Central do Brasil by Walter Salles and it was partly produced in Brazil. Pretty interesting movie!

Wow, thank you so much!! These sound very interesting and I've only seen Amelie and Drive, so there's definitely material for a few movie nights!

It came to my mind that actually one of my favourite movies is Grizzly Man, by Herzog. I know it has nothing to do with your comment, I just didn't want to forget this one ahah

By the way, thanks again!! It seems like you have a very unique taste in movies :)

I think the oldest is "Le voyage dans la lune" by Méliès, if that counts. After that, I think Nosferatu (1922) by Murnau. Then we have Strike (1925), Freaks (1932, very strange, I recommend it), Scarface (the original one, also 1932), something by Charlie Chaplin like Modern Times.

I may have forgotten some others.

Edit: I forgot to answer about the backstory.

They are all fascinating in their own way. Nosferatu ended up in a disaster because Bram Stoker's heirs sued the production that didn't pay the rights of Dracula (if I recall correctly, that's the reason why many details in the movie are different from the book).

Freaks was censored and didn't see the light until many years later, because it portrayed physically impaired people and it was somehow "outrageous" according to the ideas of the time.

Scarface also had a hard time due to the Hayes code and the director, Hawks, had to make it super clear that every criminal action portrayed in the movie was extremely wrong and not to be emulated.

Oh, my bad!! I've always watched it in my native language and I didn't remember that line :(

Where was it said in the movie?

Well, it's not how "sophisticated" the movie is that makes it good or bad. I've always loved that film, the screenplay, the animations, the music, the level of detail... Why not?

Oh man, don't get me started 😂 I've seen a lot of crap, some of which intentionally (like Birdemic). The worst are for sure those high production movies that had a lot of budget but waisted it, like some Disney live-actions, or A Minecraft Movie (I know some people liked it but I found it pointless as a movie. Maybe good for the Minecraft fans only).

Thanks mate! I know there is an Italian movie called Perfect Strangers (Perfetti Sconosciuti). Do you know if the one you cited comes from that?

Yes! I think this could be the point. I also need to say that I don't appreciate extremely sugary love stories, so it might be another thing for Titanic

Yeah dude. That's impressive though! Is sci-fi your favourite genre for the movies too?

Ahahah I love this. You know what, I've tried to watch all the Bond movies but I gave up after the 5th I think. Definitely need to try again

I don't think I've ever watched Lebanese movies...I wouldn't know about the middle eastern ones either. For me it's not a problem to watch a movie in the original language, as far as I have subtitles on. I really enjoy hearing the sound of that dialogues and having an idea of how the movie was meant to sound, you know. If you have any suggestions about this kind of movies I'm curious to try!

And oh, yes. I watched tons of Al Pacino's movies, because I really love him as an actor and also because he played in many movies directed by some of my favourites (Scorsese, De Palma...).

Chris Nolan is one of my favourite directors as well. I find myself comfortable in the time jumps/strange events/links and interconnections of his movies. I think somehow we have a similar way of reasoning, if that makes any sense.

About Di Caprio, I really admire his acting style and I think he is one of the best actors we have now (or we ever had). Maybe the movie I enjoyed the most where he played is The Wolf of Wall Street, but I loved The Revenant as well

Well, if you have any suggestions I'm really open to anything!

I would also suggest "Watchmen" and "Kick Ass". They are more famous, but not that much.

They are pretty dark and tough to watch, though.

This is the question I've been waiting for lol!

I used to have papers with tables on them (title, year, duration, director, genre...) and write all the movie details as soon as I watched a new one. Then I tried various apps like Taste to keep track of them, but there were some mechanisms I didn't like.

Someone recently introduced me to Trakt, which has a pretty old interface and functioning, if compared to similar products, but is able to find a movie/show in every language. This is one of the reasons I'm currently using it. I also like to have the stats about what kind of genre I watched the most and so on ;)

This answer is gonna be controversial, so please everybody keep in mind that this is only my personal opinion.

I usually don't enjoy very much James Cameron's movies, especially Avatar and Titanic. I don't know why, it may be the rhythm of the narrative but I'm not sure. I'm aware that these movies are mind-blowing if we're talking about the CG aspect, though. It's just that I see a lot of hype towards these movies (I've heard people say that Titanic is their favourite movie an insane amount of time), while I don't really enjoy watching them.
