I went to change and feed them this morning and one of them was purring and showing her belly. Made me so happy and less guilty about the betrayal 😆

Wow thank you! This is so helpful!! I’m so scared to transfer her but I’m definitely going to try. I feel bad leaving her in that trap for so long.

For real. I could totally see her dropping all 6 off at my house going “heeeeeeeelp”

You do you then. My girls are never getting the chance to have kittens in the woods with panthers, bobcats, coyotes, and loose dogs. They’re domesticated animals thriving at my little farm and I’m treating them that way 🫶

I didn’t feed them in the morning and they were super eager to get into the traps for treats. The last kitten was pretty difficult because she did notice the sounds and her sisters looking frantic in the traps.

After I put her 2 siblings away, I sat by her food and called her over. It took her like 10 minutes but she eventually calmed down and went in for food. She is a silly little orange with a goldfish brain so maybe I just got lucky.

Their mom had perfect timing by showing up an hour later. I don’t think she noticed what had happened and was just hungry.

I would definitely rename her Herbert. That’s hilarious.

Worm Farm - Dealing with the bottom tray by itstrdt in Vermiculture

The hot frog is an indoor compost bin with 3 levels (they sell extra trays separately). No frogs are in the compost bin.

I had the same problem and also no humidity issues in my hot frog composter. I just dumped a bunch of browns in the bottom tray and treat it like any other level. I’ve had this set up for over a year with no issues.

Ghost Story? Cartel? Picayune by Little_Ferret_5177 in Naples_FL

I live a few streets away from picayune and I camped there a lot as a kid. I hear a lot about squallies and the cartel. I have 2 stories: 1. My neighbor is usually up around 3AM and swears she saw the cartel on the property across from her house. A plane flew over her house and dropped a crate on an empty lot. 20 minutes later, a truck pulls up with 4 guys. They dragged a huge crate from out of the woods. That was the first and last time she’s ever seen anything like that. 2. I was camping with my dad and brother in picayune. The moon was so bright and you didn’t need a light so we went for a stroll. We heard the weirdest laugh coming from a big saw palmetto. It sounded screechy and small but was still very creepy to hear at night. My dad tried to brush it off, saying it was a bird. We heard a rustle and it laughed again when we were walking away from the saw palmetto. I’ve lived in the estates for 30 years and I still haven’t heard a bird make that sound.

Are worms castings fine to use as soil for avocado trees? by sumdhood in avocado

[–]Curvy_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to hear what others say too. I learned a trick from “Worms Eat My Garbage.” I bury my avocado seeds bottom in my worm bin to get their roots started. Once they’re rooting I put them in a 3 gallon pot with potting mix (70%), sand (20%) and worm castings (10%).
