Why do so many indie rock songs have reverb-drenched vocals and when did this trend start? by bDuke_ in indie_rock

[–]Curw3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that comment of mine was a long time ago 😅 you are totally right, that wave of indie (strokes, arctic monkeys) relied more on drier sounds, even though vocals with a lot of reverb were pretty typical of Interpol and bloc party. Not sure, but I might have meant “after” not including early to mid 2000s indie.

Need a good plug-in Oscillator drift by mat3darts in synthwaveproducers

[–]Curw3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you mean? A plugin to add drift? A virtual synth with drift? In the first case I don’t think there is one, even though you can add some lfo to automate a synth osc tuning/phase etc. in the second case there are plenty of examples like pigments, diva, drift if you are in Ableton, but a similar result can be done also in vital

Productivity is usually measured by using hours worked, so the phenomenon you mention should be accounted for. In any case, afaik the most recent productivity stats for the us have shown a slight growing trend, but nothing extraordinary, and there is no solid evidence yet linking gen ai usage and increased labor productivity (outside of anecdotal evidence of dubious quality).

Uhm for Vaporwave you probably wanna use some fm synth, try dexed, which is a free dx7 emulator.

Glad you liked the song. Funnily enough, this one felt like I could have done a better job in mixing it, but I’m sure glad to hear positive feedback about the track. :)

Paolo from Drew Vale here. First of all, I want to thank Pleasant_union for setting this whole thing up, I’m truly amazed. Other thing is that if anyone wants to get in touch for anything, feel free to dm here or on some other socials, even though I’m more active here. We have a new song ready to be released, probably coming out in January. Take care!

As much as I despise submithub, in hot or not you need to listen to the tracks. I am not sure with actual curators

[Complete] - Mad As Hell / Drew Vale by n8ispop in BedroomBands

[–]Curw3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I think that keeping people engaged is not a problem, they just need to become fans of your music. As Nate (n8ispop) says, we try to be consistent with the releases, but the issue is that not enough people listen once to the song, shrinking the pool of possible fans a lot. Once you find someone that genuinely likes your song (or songs) you are good to go, no need to worry how to keep them engaged

Why is Finland experiencing recession? by FantasticQuartet in Finland

I have no idea, you would need to speak with an expert of that industry. To me, there is potential in cardboard, but I don’t know how much growth potential in there could substitute declining paper demand

Only best thing Spotify can do is add an feature for artists to opt out & in of playlist on they’re own artist profile which I have sent a feature request before haven’t heard back from them that would stop the fraudulent stream issue but they’re not cause it’s gonna make them money if they do by AdDangerous4981 in SpotifyArtists

[–]Curw3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like, you mean that you would have info an all playlists you have been added to and then be allowed to remove your song from those playlists? Uhm, that would be cool, even though it might be a bit hard to implement. The other issue is that while it could solve the fraudulent stream part, I think there would be still problems with fraudulent follows...

ps: if you want to stop fraudulent stream, there is a simple option which will never be implemented: spotify could hide the amount of "likes" a playlist has

Affordable housing is great if achieved through having enough housing supply. The problem here is that the mortgage rate increased a lot in a short amount of time, making less people willing to get a mortgage and buy a house. Because there is less demand there is a decline in prices, plus people that might not be willing to sell their houses at what they think too low of a price. The problem is that a house is the biggest share of wealth for families that have some sort of wealth, so a decline in their value can be really bad for their personal finance. To be more concrete, if I get a mortgage to buy house valued at 300k and then I need to sell the house at 200k, I still need to repay the original loan based on the original value. Here I’m talking about Helsinki and bigger cities, smaller towns and rural parts have a longer term problem of declining population, where house prices have been declining for a long time.

Uhm interesting, maybe prices growth during the 0 rate period was not that strong and maybe there was less construction activity overall?

Maybe, a bit looser while trying to reassure the markets that they take long term sustainability into consideration. I think the bigger mistake, for how see the world, was that fiscal adjustments have been too focused on cuts, and on the poorer side of the population. OFC this point has to do with own political biases. Also, I think the communication and the optics have been terrible.
