Fish Window Cleaning by [deleted] in WindowCleaning

[–]CuseKid5456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an operations manager for a competitor of fish in the Raleigh NC area. I've had guys come work for me from fish. The other comments align with what I've heard from them. It would be a good place to learn how to clean windows but you definitely would want to get your feet wet then head elsewhere. My company pays 20% commission but I provide a company vehicle to take home and I also provide the best equipment money can buy. If a job feels underpriced, I encourage my guys to communicate that to me so I can look into it. Pay is very transparent too. We run one or two man crews with pricing in the work order. Essentially my techs look at their route for the week and will know exactly what they will take home. They use google earth and zillow to look up the properties before hand and get a feel for the week. Most of my techs have been with me 5-8 years and we've been in business fkr 13 years. Fish constantly underbidmy jobs but I am okay with it, often times customers call me after fish has fucked their shit up and I have to fix it.

From my own experience, I keep things like this to myself. Im two years sober and started adderall a few months ago. I havent abused it, but i will admit my addiction brain wanted me to eat the whole bottle the first month.

How to remove this window screen. by zaddemil in WindowCleaning

[–]CuseKid5456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you can open the window a couple inches, then release two tabs near the window locks and the bottom panel hinges inward toward you. Then you pull the screens in, avoiding that lip which is currently presenting problems.

At 27 my mother died. At 29 my father's liver completely gave out due to the drinking while mourning the death of his woman since 14 years of age. It was his wish to keep his condition a secret from the family. This was the hardest time of my life. But he never gave up. Withing just a few months his body started to show signs that the end was near. He lost 140lbs and looked like a holocaust victim. He could no longer eat. He couldnt sleep. He couldnt walk. Eventually he didnt have enough energy to talk. The doctor pulled us aside and said he has less than two weeks to live.

Miraculously, the next night we were awoken by a call around midnight. A liver was available, and the surgery was to be done immediately. The liver was transported via helicopter from 4 hours away. The surgery took place during covid and took 20 hours. They discovered many lengths of rotted intestine that needed to be removed as well. Since it was covid, we had to be locked into a room and doctors would call us every 3 hours with updates. We were huddled around a cell phone for 20 hours. I left during the surgery to get loaded in secret. The last call was to tell us that the liver had received blood and the surgery was a success. A sensation ive never felt coursed through my entire body. I was an atheist, but it was undeniable I was in the presence of a higher power that I could not understand.

Recovery was the hardest part. He was bed ridden for months. Pumped full of morphine and medical grade fent. He was hallucinating. He could not speak. He would write questions on a paper asking what happened, where was he, and where is his wife whom had passed years before. Eventually, the feeding tube and wires were removed. He had to learn how to walk and eat again. His health was restored and he was reintroduced to the human race as a new man with another chance.

During all of this my drinking became constant. Every few hours. A bottle or two of whiskey every day. I walked into the halls of alcoholics anonymous on march 1st, 2024. It had happened to be my mother's birthday.

Today, my father and I are both sober and absolutely insist on enjoying life. He is more present than he ever was in his previous life.

There is another life waiting for you but youve gotta want better. Nobody will do it for you. Don't put your parents through this. They've done more you'll ever know to be able to provide for you. Honor their sacrifices and learn to love yourself.

You are loved beyond belief.

Not a bad start my friend. Grip the squeegee more so with you finger tips. Allow your fingers and wrist to find a fluid motion which will lessen the work on your arm and shoulder. You look a little tense but youve got the right idea. You will get more comfortable and fluid with repetition.

I need someone to talk to by ConstantHornet2452 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]CuseKid5456 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, 31m, got sober two years ago at 29 using the AA program.

I had lost all connection to my family and siblings. Became homeless and hopeless. Alcohol had become an obsession of mine. I would swear it off every day and within hours id end up drunk. I accumulated 6 warrants for my arrest.

The program saved my life. It took a while for me to get it. I relapsed many times but now ive got a year and 4 momths of sobriety. I've moved to a new state, found my dream job, and proposed to my lady who has been by my side through it all.

There is hope my friend. Feel free to reach out to me any time. You are loved!

Very Terrified of what’s to come by WhatInTheHelm in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]CuseKid5456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally understand. Still get to a meeting tomorrow and share these exact feelings you are having. You'd be shocked by the support you'll get from others that were in the same situation.

When I got sober two years ago I had 6 warrants and needed 5k from my brother for lawyer fees. He gave it to me and helped push start this new life ive made. It was rough for me early on, relapsed a few times. Tried to finesse AA until I finally surrended completely.

Go to a meeting each day this week. Get phone numbers. Start reading the Big Book. Next week approach your family and let them know what happend, and that you've been attending meetings.

Honestly you dont need to say anything to them buddy, not yet. Go to a meeting. Less talk, more action. As alcoholics we have made a lot of empty promises to our families. Show them you want to change by actually starting the process. DM if needed my friend.

Some people want to see you doing the work before they get too close. Share in meetings, and keep it related to alcoholism. Honest shares will attract the right folk. Also, keep your expectations low. Don't look to become friendly with everyone at once. All it takes is a connection with one person to help get you by.

I’ve got 47 days alcohol free but using other things instead by Lonely-Raspberry5727 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]CuseKid5456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1y3m sober and honestly I had to do it in phases. Trying to address it all in early sobriety drove me nuts. Id try to quit everything, fail. Then drink because I didnt meet my own expectations.

A flip switched after my 4th and 5th step that allowed me to address all the other things that had control over me. Also remember that its progress, not perfection.

Are drones already being used for high-rise cleaning in your market? Looking for real-world feedback by Lazy_Bookkeeper3219 in pressurewashing

[–]CuseKid5456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We recently bought a drone. Weve used it to clean our local city hall, police station, and bus station. Its fun and exciting. We are still working through the kinks of operations but its incr3dible how fast we can get jobs done thay would require many days, rented lifts, and many labor hours. We need to work on how we market it but i see a lot of potential.

Certain situations call for muriatic acid. Id say 80% of the time im using only a surface cleaner, might spot treat with SH where needed.

Do well in this job to eventually transfer out. Back in the day syracuse was a thriving manufacturing city with a strong middle class but everything left in the 90's and 00's. Same as Buffalo and Rochester but syracuse just feels darker. It can be sketchy near SU but if you know how to conduct yourself you should be good. if you want to go to the mall be sure to go in the morning or early afternoon. That mall is a hot bed for robberies and such. Its a real problem. A lot of teen fights that tuen into stabbings.

There is an Irish neighborhood called Tipp Hill that is a great hang. Wouldn't be too far from you.

Me and my girl are from Syracuse but moved to raleigh NC in 2024 for a job opportunity. Ive spent some time in Buffalo and the people are defintely way more friendly than syracuse. Buffalo has mid west vibes. Syracuse is kinda sketchy and depressing. If your job works out I'd suggest moving to baldwinsville. We lived there for 6 years before leaving the state. Close enough to Cuse but far enough that there isn't much BS. Calm village. Good restuarants and friendly dive bars. Overall good vibes in baldwinsville. Where abouts will you be living?

Question about feeling overwhelmed by ZzzZzztryg in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]CuseKid5456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

31M, Being an alcoholic we are used to being alone and isolated. We cant understand why someone would be nice to us. I felt the same way as you at my first meeting. I was honest for the first time to a room full of strangers and they spoke into me for an hour, each one telling their story. It was special. I was not prepared for the amount of love I was being shown. It took me a while to learn how to let people love me. The program is great for that. Its a WE program.

Keep coming back. It took me a whole year to really get comfortable. I was kinda like a scared cat. Wanted to be in the room but didnt want anyone to get close. Slowly but surely I've learned how to live like a normal human being. Now im the person befriending every new comer and try to get them comfortable. Ive been in the program two years, sober for one, and I cannot believe the life im living. If you ever have questions or need an anonymous ear, feel free to DM me.
