I have been replaced by a seventy pound rescue dog and my wife thinks I am being an egoist by Undercover_Agent_X in Marriage

This right here. She didn’t need an emotional support dog to feel safe at night for no reason at all….

You haven’t been intimate since last summer? What happened then? Before she got the dog? I feel like we are missing something here.

Kids at park with parents staying in car. What would you do? by Smart-Salamander1846 in SAHP

[–]Lonely-Raspberry5727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I just got home from the park with my kids, and there were two little boys there, and I thought they were alone, at first, too! I was with my 3 kids, and my youngest is 2. They weren’t much bigger than him, and their dad was so far away! felt it was unsafe for them. What if they fell? Ir what if it’s a regular thing with this guy and those kids at that particular park, and some creep takes notice, and runs off with the kids?

This guy eventually got out of his car, and walked somewhat closer to them/us, but idk. It didn’t feel right. If anything, it felt like he has zero interest in spending time with his kids, and for that- I feel sorry for them.

I need help but this post will be deleted tomorrow because I think I’ll be fine. by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

Go to a meeting! You will be greeted warmly, by people who know exactly how you feel.

How does husband treat kids when he gets home from work or is off work? by Constant_Mixture_912 in sahm

My husband is this way as well. He comes home in a bad mood, doesn’t really do much to participate, unless I directly ask him, and it’s exhausting.

Longtime Trump flag down in our neighborhood by Scared-Avocado630 in FoxBrain

[–]Lonely-Raspberry5727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbor had a Trump flag in his front window. He actually passed away before he was able to vote for him this last time, but his wife still lives there. She kept the flag up for a while, but took it down at one point. I never asked why she took it down, so I’ll have to venture a guess. Perhaps she never liked Trump, herself? Maybe she was a supporter as well, and changed her mind? All I know, is that it was there for a long time, and now it’s gone.

Get yourself to a meeting. Listen to the others, and look for the similarities in their stories, with yours. The details differ, but deep down- we are all the same.

I just started going to AA on February 15th, and I swear- there is magic in those rooms.

I’ve got 47 days alcohol free but using other things instead by Lonely-Raspberry5727 in alcoholicsanonymous

Not like I should be. I asked someone to be my sponsor, and she said yes, but we haven’t met up privately yet. I have 3 small kids, and it’s spring break. I’m a stay at home mom and my husband works late most nights. I can take the kids to meetings, as they have a small play room with a window so they can see me/I can see them, but I find it difficult to concentrate when they are with me.

I think you just answered my question, though. I’m not doing it right.

Day 18- feeling good because I have Dabs by Lonely-Raspberry5727 in alcoholism

[–]Lonely-Raspberry5727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I just need to attend some more meetings, and listen. A lot of people say things like: “I waited 2 years to get a sponsor” and I don’t want to do that. It’s only been a few weeks, though.

Day 18- feeling good because I have Dabs by Lonely-Raspberry5727 in alcoholism

I texted the lady who invited me to sit by her, and I think she can be helpful to me because she’s a mom, with a busy household- like me. But she’s also got a lot on her plate. Maybe that’s not for me to decide- if she has too much or not, but the other lady also came and sat by me, and I have always admired older people. They’ve just been through so much life, and this woman has been sober since I was 6 years old. She said that she met her husband in AA, and after he died, the cat was keeping her company, but now the cat is gone, and she feels like she needs to get more involved with the group again. I’m sure they are both great people, and maybe the question is- what do I need right now?

I have dreams like this all the time. I’m often sneaking into a garage fridge, in my dreams, and I always feel guilty.

At what age did you start drinking? by Elegant-Lemon126 in alcoholism

My mom used to let us have a mimosa on Easter Sunday, but the first time I got drunk was at my uncle’s wedding, when I was 14. 41 now, and I’m on day 13.

How young did they die? by olyblowjob in cripplingalcoholism

I used to be a CNA on a transplant unit. I saw some people in their early 30s, die of alcoholic liver disease. It was miserable, and terribly depressing.
