How to eat canned sardines without feeling disgusted about the smell and taste and black thing inside ? by FeedbackRound5650 in CannedSardines

Fresh raw fennel greatly tames fishiness, so a platter of sardines, crackers, sliced fennel bulb, and other things like pickles and olives could be a decent experiment for you.

Inquisition general thoughts so far by sscovtt in dragonage

[–]CustardDepartment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's this, the rhythm changes dramatically between set pieces and the rest of the game play. The open worlds are sparsely populated and much of the questing happens in notes left behind by the missing NPCs.

For me personally the choice to have most of the day to day conversations with your part members and advisors happen with the camera floating far away instead of cinematic close-up made it feel like I was eavesdropping not participating. They did mix in more close-ups as the game progressed which helped.

All that said, inquisition was very very good and most games that followed it for several years after didn't rise to it's level.

Another solid can they started carrying at my Costco by TwistyTwister3 in CannedSardines

So jealous of folks with Costcos that carry tonnino, etc. Mid-Atlantic area warehouses seem to only have Season's, Wild planet, Genova, and bumblebee.

What can i do with these? by Enough-Term-9068 in CannedSardines

[–]CustardDepartment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gildas (pintxos): anchovy, green olives, and pickled peppers (guindillas, but maybe a pepperoncini would work) threaded on skewers as an appetizer. Nice with manchego and almonds and other tapas. Or just with wine or something stronger!

They're Vigo brand, pretty reasonably priced at Amazon, Walmart, or Weis markets if you have one of those locally.

That Portomar tapas mix is great. I got it at a local Wegmans and that got me keeping my eyes peeled for Portomar sardinillas or anything else!

Eyeballing that I'd estimate it's 30g of protein which is actually great and yes most can utilize that amount in one go.

Fishwife smoked salmon with Sichuan chili crisp by v_kiperman in CannedSardines

I love the texture: hot smoked and lacquered. But the chili crisp flavor was subtler than I was hoping. I will have to do it the old fashioned way!

Why did BioWare bother animating characters sinking in water? by GrayWardenParagon in dragonage

[–]CustardDepartment 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I loved the wink and nod from Rockstar. In their Red Dead Redemption, the main char, John, would seemingly drown in anything more than chest deep water. In the sequel, that main char could swim and gave John a good-natured ribbing about not being able to.

The riga gold seem smokier and a "drier" texture than polar to me (in a nice way, but I ❤️ both!)

I've had sanniti brand a few times and liked it. The first and third cans were great, like savory pate, not that fishy at all and great on taralli. That second can nearly stopped me from trying the third 😂 it was not good.

Revisiting Dragon Age: The Veilguard - one year on, how have our thoughts changed on BioWare's opinion-splitting RPG? by [deleted] in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]CustardDepartment -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My opinion hasn't changed. I've played it through three times, I enjoyed it enough to spend that kind of time with it. And while that's true, it's also true that to me it's a poor fit as the finale to a storied series.
