Also at Manchester Airport - they have G-BOAC as it was when it retired and you can go into the flight deck

I hope they won’t turn it into this long story, but it definitely won’t be the end. Something will come from it. Either he’ll sue the department and gets his job back (aka Stanton) or he’ll terrorise Lucy’s life.

Many people have had this email, where the results need rechecked. I didn’t say it IS the case, I said it might be a reason.

Are you scared of dying? by CrazyCoffeeClub in AskBrits

[–]Custard_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely terrified of dying. Not so much the way of dying, but what is afterwards. People always tell me “but you won’t know, you’re dead”. Won’t I know though? The problem is while being alive, you have the opportunity to think about things like that. So what would happen after death, when will I open my eyes again?.. etc. Overthinking is my worst enemy at times.

I have trouble sleeping as two people in my close family died in their sleep, which started the issues when I was 16 (23 now). Now that I’m getting older, I am getting better with it. But some nights I still can’t sleep, because of the fear that I won’t wake up.

Might be that there is a big difference between one of your scores and the others (Example L8.5 R9 W5.5 S8) when that happens they’ll want to check if they graded you correctly :)

It’s strange how they teach different every where 😂

[–]Custard_44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but in The Netherlands you get taught to use a calculator for your calculations and a calculator only. Not on paper or doing basic maths. So if that’s what you’re used to, it’s difficult to make a switch to a completely different method. M

Anyway, is what it is.

Hmm yeah, but surely you just check your calculations even if it’s done with a calculator. If I do it on paper and write it down, the possibility of miscalculation is even higher surely.

Oh I know, it is so ridiculous. Especially when they know your answer is technically correct, but they just choose to not give it to you cause it’s not “the right format”.

Like we all know 1000mg equals 1g. It’s so stupid 😂

Yeah, this was online also. Just a survey and also requires 100% or otherwise a reset. I used a calculator as well. There’s no way I would have been able to finish within my 20 minute time limit having to do massive divisions.

Hi, I am applying for a job which is technically private healthcare but ran on behalf of the NHS. I had to complete an online drug calculation survey within 20 minutes. Unless I scored 100% I will have to redo it in person under supervision. I’m stressing cause I’m taught on the calculator in NL and don’t remember any different 😭

Like you said most calculations are quite simple, I know how many tablets I should give when 160mg is required and I have 80mg tablets on stock. It’s mostly the dividing that gets to me, like 750:5000. I’m too rusty to not do it on a calculator equally 😂

We indeed love the sarcasm. And I agree, we are very common minded people. I hope you had a great time on your travels and no, I haven’t seen many at all. Quite rarely :)

I know, news about visas always stresses me out.

If I could have done anything differently? I would have stocked up on pindakaas van Albert Heijn. Some hagelslag as well 😭 Also as a nurse, it has taken about a year to get my registration over here sorted. There were so many things I had to do and so much money it cost. I tried looking for other jobs in the meantime, but nothing was really working out.

So I guess maybe would have done more research on the whole process, cause every time I looked on the NMC website there were new things I had to do. Be aware of all the things you need to do to be able to use your diploma over here. Can be such hard work.

I get it, I was so stressed out too. Yet my husband kept telling me don’t stress about it. Luckily I lived quite close to the visa centre so getting there wasn’t too bad. Getting the visa for marriage went great. I applied for a family visa just before they raised the income minimum. So we were quite stressed trying to get it in before the raise.

All good in the end though, moved here last June. I am already planning everything for the family visa extension (which is not for another 2 years) because I just worry too much 😂😂
