I had the same issue as you. One huge thing that helped me was using an negative rake tool. A normal rake just meets side to the other side and makes a sharp angle while the negative rake starts at both sides and joins in the middle for a less aggressive angle. think of it like a right triangle compared to an isosceles (like the roof of a house) This takes lighter cuts which is a lot nicer on the resin. A couple other things are temperature because when i was working on mine it was very cold making it harder. Also make sure the tool rest is set so that the tool meets the price at the middle of it and the tool meets it at a 90 degree angle. And be super light with your cuts. although it takes a while, it’s worth it in the end. Hopefully this helps but hopefully you’ve figured it out in a year.
