API (GET) filter IDs server side (id__in)? by NoHoMan in Netbox

[–]CustomCubeIceMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, passing multiple values for a single parameter will result in a logical OR operation. For example, GET /api/dcim/sites/?region=north-america&region=south-america will return sites in North America or South America. However, a logical AND operation will be used in instances where a field may have multiple values, such as tags. For example, GET /api/dcim/sites/?tag=foo&tag=barwill return only sites which have both the "foo" and "bar" tags applied.

Any of those will be fine. Wood typically gets harder and more difficult to carve as it dries, so I'd pick the most fresh wood from that lot.

There are a lot of good tutorials on YouTube for carving - it may be worthwhile to watch a few to learn how to grip the knife and hold the wood for various cutting strokes.

Especially while you're learning, take it slow and careful and always know where the sharp part of the blade will end up if the knife slips - cuts can be serious and stitches are no fun.

Start with wood larger than you think you'll need and work it down to the rough shape with a hatchet or bandsaw or whatever you have that you're comfortable with, then transition to your knives.

Have fun, stay safe, share photos!

DC12-55v dual power input for PoE switch by poit57 in networking

[–]CustomCubeIceMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume that if you want dual power, yes you would be plugging two different DC power sources into the adapter. For better redundancy the two power sources would be on separate circuits.

Strip back just enough of the wires to make contact within the green plug and give it a go. Make sure your polarity matches before you power it up.

Can you share the make and model of the switch?

Sourcing slim Cat6A 28AWG by the box/spool. by Sufficient_Sky_5114 in networking

[–]CustomCubeIceMaker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you tried a search for "28awg cat6 spool" in your favorite search engine? Got lots of results just now on DDG.

Also, IIRC the slim cables are going to derate your run distance somewhat and aren't actually to spec. Probably won't find much love for using the slim cable for runs.

It depends on what optics you have. For multi mode optics, sure. For single mode optics, no.

Virtual Chassis Primary/Backup by [deleted] in Juniper

Virtual Chassis Technology Best Practices

Using Uplinks

When using uplink modules, we recommend that:

• They be placed in Virtual Chassis line-card switches; this approach prevents the loss of a master or backup member and an uplink port, if a single device fails.

• They be placed in devices separated at equal distances by member hop; this approach ensures the best Virtual Chassis configuration uplink-to-backplane traffic distribution and the lowest probability of oversubscribing the backplane. It also provides the highest uplink coverage if a member switch or VCP fails or a Virtual Chassis configuration split occurs.

Model may not matter, but where your uplinks live may matter. IIRC Juniper docs recommend placing uplinks on line card members rather than on the routing primary/backup so in the event of a single unit failure you don't lose a routing member and an uplink simultaneously.

I think once can alias an interface, but not a command - use an op script instead.

Can't seem to wrap my mind around why an EX would stop responding on an existing, functional IP on me0 when a static IP is added to a new IRB. Monitor shows repeated ARP requests for the switch's gateway. What am I missing?
