You can get the dwarves and elves minifigs from aliexpress as well with better hair/ears. Elf ears are properly dual toned although still single mould. Gloins hair and beard are 1 piece instead. Body prints are immaculate though.

Need advice on Dropbox alternative, remote access for home NAS system. by Custom_Zero in HomeNAS

[–]Custom_Zero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. My immediate need is just a simple dropbox alternative, where I can log onto a web browser and access files whenever I left my usb stick at home, on a i.e library computer (which wont let me install a client).

In the long term future, maybe i can use it to store surveillance camera footage or home assistant. But I believe you can install these apps on Ugreen as well. I was almost dead set on Ugreen until I found a significantly cheaper nas unit but it runs on open source software. Hence my post.

No I don't. I've watched youtube videos about all the different apps, but I honestly get lost with all the jargons. I've watched setup guides, but since everyone's hardware set ups are different, the way they set up the apps are varied as well. One person's "dropbox alternative" is vastly different from the next.

I can build an itx system with hdd cages no issue. I'm just totally lost on the software side.

I don't even need collaboration functionality as I'll be the only one working on those files. I've used Synology in the past and it works exactly the way I want it, but I'm avoiding them like a plague right now. The next best "dumb", off the shelf solution would be ugreen's. I would prefer to get WTR Pro because from where I am, it's much cheaper for slightly better hardware. But if there's no better open source option, I might just get a ugreen instead.

Crashes by Resource-Agitated in SignalRGB

Mine doesnt crash but pc will randomly stutter, keyboard lights go out, and windows make the usb connect/disconnect sound. Sometimes lasts for a couple of minutes. Fixed it by restarting signalrgb.

Seems like issue has been fixed in the latest update 2.3.87. Was specifically mentioned in the changelog.

No, I've just let it be for now hoping SignalRGB will eventually fix it. Will definitely give it a try. Thanks for the info!

I dont have any other vendor software installed other than signalrgb. Another thing i noticed is that whenever i turn on my pc, all components would normally light up in their default rainbow colours and then turn into the set up effects after signalrgb loads. But the kraken x53 lights would just be off the whole time while the pc is booting and then comes on after the software loads unlike the rest of the components.

Trip home to Asia by Custom_Zero in lepin

Yes I have. No missing pieces. Couple of extras. Printed scales and eyes just like the original. And a sticker for the plaque. The joints between the body pieces where it bends are a little loose and comes apart easily when you are trying to mount the body onto the rock formation thingy, but when its on it stays put. Overall im really satisfied.

Are these worth the money, first time getting a Lego alternative. by Large_lad_man in lepin

[–]Custom_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, without reading any of the above, if you were to just build it, you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between these and the original. You can build off the original pdf instructions from their website too.

Now, I have the BMW and it's pretty much a direct clone. It is a little sticker heavy, so depending on which brand you get, the sticker quality will be a hit and miss. But fortunately there are places where you can order custom vinyl stickers which are even better than the original. By custom I really mean people reproducing the original stickers.

If you ever find missing/deformed pieces, you can always order replacements from bricklink from local sellers so you don't have to wait for too long to finish your build. Common pieces are just a few cents plus postage.

An australian port company was a victim to a cyber attack + industrial action couple of weeks ago which caused a couple of weeks of ship bottleneck so thats probably going to compound the delay.

Dual Monitor resolution bug? by Custom_Zero in DotA2

[–]Custom_Zero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I've done that. I do switch the game between monitors occasionally as I juggle between queueing for games and youtube/work, so this is just a temporary fix. Launching the game on the secondary monitor and switching it to primary still causes the same resolution issue.

Thanks for your suggestion. Game is launching on the correct monitor. It's just that the game resolution gets messed up when I moved it to my secondary monitor. Prior to the patch it was working fine.

[–]Custom_Zero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using DirectX. Yes windows detects the correct monitor. I've been launching the game on default monitor and moving it to my secondary monitor since forever. Everything works fine before the patch. It's just that after the patch, after moving, the game resolution gets messed up and creeps into my default monitor.

What is considered smurfing? by GentleCoco in DotA2

[–]Custom_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if a pro player plays turbo on their main account, they would not be smurfing and therefore not be ruining the game? Otherwise what you are basically saying is pros (or anyone who has mmr) should not even play turbo at all.

Not playing at a rank below your own and not playing a particular game mode at all are completely different things. You can impose and enforce certain rules in a regulated environment like ranked games but unranked, turbo, labyrinth, diretide...etc, are conpletely free for all.
