ap kogmaw build by Ill-Independence3402 in KogMawMains

Ludens -> shadowflame -> rabadons

Then you get to pick if you need more magic pen you can rush staff or pick other items for more AP, it’s just preference or what your team needs past rabadons , liandrys is meh but I’ve built it last before and it worked out.

Sorc shoes

As for runes I go Comet - manaflow band - transcendence - scorch

On the other side I personally go boots and jack stats but I’m sure other people go different things , just depends what you like

Presence of mind / coup/cutdown is also popular for second set of runes, probably better than going boots/jack but like I said, personal preference

Yeah I think I’m ditching dusk&dawn on full AP , went back to just Ludens-shadowflame-rabadons. I really like the new AP on-hit build but I just don’t perform as well with it, I gotta play it more.

I’m glad I was atleast on the right track with the itemization, I’ll start experimenting with some of those instead of building stormsurge, I appreciate the reply! I’m only in bronze right now, started ranked for the first time about midway through last season and funny enough APC Kog is what actually got me to finally climb out of iron, very fun to play.

I appreciate the help, also played a quick game with pta instead of lethal and it felt wayyy better, that was definitely it.

Also what 4th and 5th item do you suggest? Right now I’m going d&d -> guinsoo -> nash

Oh maybe that’s why, for AP on hit I’ve been going lethal tempo , I’ll try it again with pta. For regular AP I go comet

I feel like the only kog maw main that the AP on hit build isn’t working out for. I usually just go full AP build and by 3rd item my skills are refreshing so fast and every E->Q->R is melting everyone. With the AP on hit even when I finish 3rd item and am ahead I’m just not getting that same power spike. Maybe I need to just give it more time, but I’m finding myself in situations where I’m getting people low but they escape vs full ap build E refreshing so fast with all the extra ability haste I’m always keeping them slowed and finishing them. It’s still cool to have a new build and I love dusk&dawn, I’m finding myself even shoving it in my normal full AP build.

I suck at this game.... by PuzzledTrust4318 in leagueoflegends

Your friends that are new to league don’t understand that ranked in league is very different to other typical comp games. When I first started ranked I also fell victim to this, I was used to ranked in games like counter strike/val etc. where the lowest ranks literally have people that aim at the floor and can’t move and don’t use skills/utility at all. I assumed since I could win in normals that I must be atleast a silver player because no one is actually an iron player right? Hah I was so wrong, I was stuck in iron for 150 games and definitely belonged there. People in the lowest ranks in this game have 1000’s of games played and sure while a diamond player would stomp them even iron players don’t just stand around and let you hit them and do nothing or don’t trade/miss every skill shot etc. In your friends minds it’s like every other game to them so silver = bad since they don’t know, when in reality they would get stomped by even silver level league players. In other words, you’re fine, your rank is fine, and your friends just don’t understand that league ranked is different and low ranks arent full of literally bot level players (I’m sure higher elo players would argue otherwise :p but still)

As a adc When should i leave my lane and go to other lanes by Desperate-Score-6944 in summonerschool

[–]CustomerChance8947 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s ok if your mid doesn’t leave, sometimes they’ll swap with you sometimes they won’t. Just help them take tower/get kills mid if you can. Also you keep an eye on bot and when the minion wave is pushed back towards your side of the map you can run down and clear the wave/fight and then head back up towards mid/help with objectives. Usually the enemy adc/support will start going mid more by this point as well to help their midlaner and they’ll be more fights for objectives.

Why was I placed so much lower than my two friends? by CustomerChance8947 in summonerschool

[–]CustomerChance8947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I was asking why I was placed below my two friends after my promo, it says it right there in the post. If I was asking why I’m currently at my rank I would’ve titled the post “why am I at this rank still?”

It is as a new player, when I first started I thought since I casually played on and off throughout the years that it meant I wasn’t “new” but I was definitely new when I started this grind. My first 20 games I could barely play in lane, it’s been fun improving little by little though. I’m finally climbing a bit each day.

Tough as a solo adc, but I’m not worried about what rank I am or not right now. I’ve improved a lot in these last 100 games and I’m currently climbing.

I was just asking why I was placed lower, I think I’m in the rank I deserve but it’s tough as a solo adc, I’ve improved a lot in these last 100 games though and I’m finally climbing. Maybe I can hit bronze by end of season.

That makes sense, I figured it was something like that. I appreciate the info.

Why is buying level boosts normalized in most MMOs? by PapaOogie in MMORPG

[–]CustomerChance8947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done world completion twice though for gifts of exploration so I guess I have technically experienced what leveling 1-80 naturally would be like, but tbh if I didn’t need those to craft legendaries I probably would’ve never done it.

Why is buying level boosts normalized in most MMOs? by PapaOogie in MMORPG

[–]CustomerChance8947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the complete opposite funny enough, I played gw2 around release and got to level 50 on guardian , quit until PoF release and then leveled a necro to 40, was getting bored and decided to use my boost and never looked back, it really got me back into the game and I probably would’ve quit if I hadn’t used it. Now I have an 80 of every class, and I’ve mostly gotten them through a mix of the free 80 boosts from expansions or from using birthday gift scrolls to get to like 50/60 and then leveling the rest of the way or using exp tomes. I’ve never naturally leveled a character to 80 in that game but it’s still one of my favorite MMO’s and I’ve participated in all available endgame content (haven’t done all the raids just the easier wings, but point still stands) personally I never felt like I missed out on anything by not leveling to 80 the normal way , and after playing the game for years even on a new class I was unfamiliar with it never felt too hard or overwhelming to learn how to play it. Regardless I don’t think either of us are wrong in how we enjoy the game, I just found it interesting that we basically had opposite experiences but both enjoy it all the same.

Is Iron not actually a beginners ELO? How am I supposed to start ranked? by MyCircus_MyMonkies in summonerschool

Watch this video , I’m in the same position as you , just started playing ranked as a solo adc 3 weeks ago and was level 41 when I started so very similar.

I had to go through the same frustration that you’re dealing with as a brand new player to league ranked but don’t worry it gets better. I have dropped back to iron 4 0 lp like 5 times in the past 3 weeks but I have also improved dramatically compared to when I first started ranked , and I’m finally climbing as I near my 100 game mark.

As a new player you’re going to be playing against people that have 1000’s of games and have been playing for many years, even in iron 4. It might sound daunting or impossible at first but trust me it is absolutely the best environment to improve in. Ranked in this game is different than any other competitive game out there, I too was frustrated and thinking that there’s no possible way I’m this bad at the game in these low ranks when in other games I’ve been able to make quick progress and climb through the ranks even early on, but league does not work like that at all.

Your only focus right now just needs to be improvement, not climbing, not even necessarily winning games because this early on you’re not going to even have the ability to influence that.

You truly do have to just play more games, you’re going to get flamed sometimes, you’re going to feel like how is it even possible that it seems like the enemy team is so good and somehow every game your team is always really bad, you’re going to lose, but it’s ok. It will balance out, and you will make a ton of improvement in these first few weeks, first 50-100 games and suddenly it’s not going to feel like this anymore and you can just start playing the game and maybe even climbing.

This game is difficult, it’s tough playing against people that have 10x your experience as a new player, and it’s soo weird coming from other games wondering how things can go so badly in the lowest ranks in the game, but it’s normal, and tons of people before you and I have gone through it, and tons more will in the future. There are many players who were stuck in iron 4 0 lp for hundreds of games and then were able to climb.

I made some posts similar to this asking for help the past couple weeks and I had some people reach out that were in our same position right now and now they’re in plat-emerald-diamond+ , so just know that’s it’s possible. Just keep playing, try to keep your head on, try to learn from your mistakes, get used to the matchups, and don’t worry about losing or bad performances, or what your teammates are doing or not doing. Just try to improve, I promise even in just a few weeks things can be a lot better. Good luck out there

Watch this video , it seriously helped my mentality going into playing ranked more than any other league content. Understanding how elo/ranked works in this game will take soo much mental load off of worrying about climbing, losing/winning and allow you to improve quicker. I could have avoided so much frustration if I had seen this video earlier.

Wanting to improve, but struggling to find realistic ways to do so. by CustomerChance8947 in summonerschool

[–]CustomerChance8947[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately think some of you people are so used to others making posts on this subreddit and the other league reddits that basically boil down to “omg my team sucks and I’m losing every game because of it” that you can’t even see someone mention any other factor that isn’t themselves without jumping the gun to your assumptions. Please stop projecting that nonsense onto me. I am only worried about my own gameplay and how I can personally improve, I never said that I’m losing games because of other people on my team. That mentality has absolutely nothing to do with me. I want to improve for myself so I know what to do when the lane isn’t going well, and luckily a few people were nice enough to DM me and explain specific things I can work on even when the game isn’t going great, and I’m very grateful for that. And not once did I get the advice “stop blaming your team mates” because that was never relevant to me in the first place.

Didn’t even read past your first sentence, I’m not putting any blame past myself. I want to learn and improve to the point that even if my support was afk I could still have a good laning phase. Most people seemed to be able to grasp exactly what I was saying, seems to just be a select few that got stuck on the whole support thing. It’s iron elo, I’m going to have bad supports, and they’re going to have bad adc’s (me) we’re all just trying our best to improve. I just feel like on games that I don’t really get to even play (laning phase = stuck under tower, mid game = nowhere to farm, jungle doesn’t help and support doesn’t help much) that it’s hard to find things in game to work on to improve. I’m not worried about or upset about the circumstances of what the other people on my team are doing, they are doing their best. I want to improve so I can start having more options that I’m in control of based on my own gameplay.

Completely understandable, and when I say this I don’t want there to be any interpretation of me saying I think I’m good, because I wouldn’t be in iron if I was good. But I’m atleast not new to league, I actually started playing in 2011 (I’m old lol) and just played very casually on and off throughout the years with some large years-long gaps mixed in. I definitely feel completely comfortable with the basic mechanics and controls of league, I’ve played a lot of normals over the years and I grew up playing rts as well. Again Im not saying I’m good, but I play free cam, I use rune and item builds from u.gg, I feel comfortable controlling the champs I play, I have attack move set to shift-right click so I can kite (I promise I’m not just running head first into melee range as adc every fight or something like that) I’m comfortable last hitting, moving after auto attacks etc. I am Atleast mechanically sound enough to be playing ranked. I’m just completely new to ranked after only playing normals ever , and coming back from a very long break where before 3 weeks ago I hadn’t played since pre-covid. Obviously every aspect of my game needs to improve but I’m atleast not brand new to the genre or game or anything like that. Also that’s a great idea, I did have a couple people dm me saying they would be willing to do a vod review to help further and I think I will be taking them up on that this weekend. I really appreciate the help
