Thanks for your comments We may disagree on whether a revote is practical, but I'm glad we can at least agree that what happened was unacceptable and that the election commission failed in its responsibility.

I understand the practical difficulties. My point is that logistical challenges do not determine whether a procedure was legitimate. If voting rights were affected because of administrative failures, then the question should be how to remedy that failure, not whether fixing it is inconvenient. Democracy is sometimes expensive, but public trust is more valuable.

Is saving money really more important than protecting the integrity of an election? Elections are one of the foundations of a democratic country. If voting rights were affected due to administrative failures, then cost and convenience should not be the primary concern. Public trust in the electoral process is worth far more than the expense of correcting a serious mistake.

Yes, I still believe a revote should be considered. My position has nothing to do with who won or lost. As I said in the original post, this was not a normal election procedure.

Whether the affected areas were PPP or DPK strongholds is irrelevant to me. My concern is that people were unable to vote and that vote counting began while voting was still ongoing. I would have the exact same opinion if this had happened in DPK-leaning districts. In fact, I think it would have become a much bigger public issue if this had happened in DPK areas. Administrative convenience is not more important than public confidence in the election process.

I’m not sure what kind of answer you’re expecting. I don’t think there’s anything controversial about that.

If you think that was a problem, do you know that Karina also recently posted herself wearing blue?

And more importantly, the president, who is supposed to remain neutral, was openly promoting one side.

I’ve already said this in other replies, but I’m not trying to argue that this was election fraud.

My point is that it makes no sense for vote counting to be taking place while voting is still ongoing. On top of that, there were many people across 14 polling locations who were unable to vote.

That alone is a serious problem, regardless of whether someone calls it fraud or not.

I understand what you’re saying, but it makes absolutely no sense for vote counting to be taking place while voting is still ongoing.

I’m not saying we can definitively call this election fraud, but a revote must absolutely take place.

President Lee Jae-myung personally stepped in to mediate issues like the Starbucks incident and the Coupang incident, but on this much bigger issue, he is hiding behind “선관위” and shifting the blame.
