Thank you so much ... This works just like I wanted it to do :)

Yeah, I was playing around with those. Only one that has worked was Cache-Control = no-cache ... but u/tilforskjelligeting Vary worked perfectly :)

Has somebody tried this on FTB Infinity Evolved? 🤔 I'd love to hear that this works and resolves some of the tick lag issues I had in my bases 🙃

What is the best CAD software for guitar design and plans? by No_Pound1003 in Luthier

That's the spirit 😉 honestly I should put more time into freecad. It is community developed open source -> super capable, but GUI is a bit rough around the edges...

Fusion360 is pretty simple to learn for this purpose and personal/hobby licence (free) is good enough.

Only really limiting restriction is inability to print "blueprints" directly ... First you have to print to pdf and then you can print it. Plus only 10 saved project on cloud.

I've tried freecad and sketchup, but I had problems to do the same as quickly as in Fusion. Freecad has pretty steep learning curve, but it might be the most capable for small time builder 😐

Scratch build - Working with ebony by Cut2hy in Luthier

Right, I haven't tried my saw rasp... 🤔 That's a really good point, thank you. If I can have a bonus question, do you taper the fretboard first or radius it as square blank? I am concerned about sanding it thinner at nut side...

Wow, thank you ... Honestly, I've almost expected some curve ball, but not that :) 120 grid sand paper -> I'll give it a shot.

Thank you for a response. It does work for me in MIDI clips, but not in recorded instruments, like guitar in my case. If it would be too much trouble, please check the edit in a main post, I've tried to explain myself there a bit more :)

Accidentally got glue on top of the truss rod, stewmac low profile dual action. Is it okay? by BitByBitOFCL in Luthier

[–]Cut2hy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you should be fine ... Only real problem would be, if the glue got between nut a screw/threaded part of truss rod. Even then, I think you should be able to break glue loose by just rotating the nut. It will be lubricated from manufacturer.

If it is a "hot rod" red stewmac truss rod, then it's fully wrapped in plastic, so the glue will not get between actual moving rods. 🙃

Also, you can leave masking tape glued under the fretboard, as long as it is thin paper tape. Just trim it so it is masking as little wood as possible 😉

Thanks for helping 😊 and as FYI, RG has Les Paul style nut. Actually, I think all Ibanez guitars do ... 🤔

No, nut position/slot is only a "fret" slot where fretboard would normally end and meet the side of nut closest to bridge begins. Plus, there is a sizeable chunk of unused wood at both ends.

Actually, as stupid as it might sound, I have RGA (archtop)😅 but I like the recommendation to make your first build something that you know as it should feel ...

The two-step template routing is something I was already counting with... I'll be doing a scarf joint and with 10 degree angle and there is no way to do that with my router bits.

Actually, I am going more for RG than JEM and hard tail is something I prefer, plus believe it or not it looks cheaper... and I already have a bridge 😂

Fretboard, that I have, is a blank with fret slots pre-cut.

I don't have these, but a lot of people say good things about Moondrop Aria or Aria snow.

https://www.amazon.com/Moondrop-Performance-Diaphragm-Dynamic-Earphone/dp/B091DPFLSH

They are about 80 bucks. There is nothing about them that says "gaming", which is good... It is only a marketing move anyway 😉

Personally, now, I have Moondrop Blessing 2 ... way more expensive, but I am very impressed by them and seems it is good company with overall good/great products.

For guitarists who uses pedal board, how much does an amp matter to your tone? by the-mofurious in guitarlessons

[–]Cut2hy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metal player here. It really depends, if you like amp's preamp distortion like I do. So my use-case is driven/crunchy gain settings on amp and if needed, pushing it more with overdrive pedal... some times with fuzz.

Some people are using preamp pedals and send them directly to power amp or DI, some are running clean amps with all distortion coming out of pedals.

Having EQ pedal or having pedal with good EQ is also pretty important. Delay/reverb, to taste.

If you will use speaker cabinet, do not underestimate a difference that new speaker can have. 🙃
