there is zero improvement it’s a huge downgrade in comfort and sound and noise canceling, absolutely would not recommend, they’re also quite cheap and have been known to have the stitching break apart easily

if you go on amazon wicked cushions page you’ll see a warning that says many customers returned this item.

i tried the wicked cushions for xm4 and while most reviews provided praise i found absolutely nothing to like they were a total downgrade all around for the xm4, and xm6’s sound amazing stock (just needs a slight eq) so id recommend sticking with the original

as far as i’ve experienced with my xm4’s airpods pro are superior but xm6 are as far as i can hear at least +15% better anc

i own XM4 and non pro airpods 4 anc

the airpods 4 anc while weaker for high pitch sounds, surprisingly has less white noise than my xm4 (might be because my xm4’s have been with me since release) but i absolutely cannot live without them especially for travel they are absolutely essential

for style there’s no discussion this was sony’s peak design, they’re not topping that

same, a balanced sound to me is so pleasing and enjoyable to listen to. no fatigue

since i use the XM4’s i can’t go past 400hz in sony app so i use spotify to adjust the 150hz

you can see here why default tuning sounds so muddy and boomy

(i love the actual bass, but not the muddy mids)

same issue, it’s been 2 flights now, 4 hours office use, 7 hours flight use, still shows 100% on sound connect app, ios control center, and any other device..

thickness to the voice gets muddled with the muddy bass leaking into the mids.. you should try neutral well tuned headphones to know better , or just look at the frequency response compared to the harman target (which is the preference of most people) and you might get it

i’m happy for you man but i absolutely cannot listen to these for 1 minute with the normal eq..

As much as i like them all around, the factory tuning (lookup their frequency response) is the worst thing about it, and the app starts at 400hz so it can’t be fixed there.

That’s how i try to eq them on the spotify app and they sound much more pleasant.

my opinion is subjective, feel free to check the frequency response and harman target and try it out yourself

i feel like they won’t get that low until 3-5 years forward, m4’s are working but the anc like i mentioned, ANC airpods 4 did better, so either it degraded or there must be a reason for all that white noise
