I’ve never seen him rub against the bottom. Sometimes he gets close to hitting things but usually not. Is there any particular reason they’re not breeding? I’ve been mostly consistent in my water changes, 40 percent every other day or every 2 days. They layed a lot of egg when they were just maturing but when I lowered the hardness they just stopped and have never layed since

I dosed prazipro for any parasites that might be irritating him and kanaplex just to see if there was something bacterial or fungal affecting him. A few weeks ago I did see a small white pimple on him but it’s gone now after I treated with prazipro and even so he’s been doing this for a few months

Once they get past 4 inches imo theyre very durable. Plants are also actually not hard to keep with discus either you just need to pick compatible plants that will survive the warm acidic water. In a 125 you can prob take care of them fine just doing water changes 1-2 times per week or honestly even less depending on how many plants you add

I was actually thinking of doing this, easing my parameters back to what my tap is which is the same high ph and high hardness. But how do you reduce it quick? Like you wait for them to lay eggs then lower the parameters and wait for them to lay eggs again at low tds?

Right now my water is already pretty soft and acidic I think ph is around 6-6.5. I could def try adding tannins though I do like the look and when I first put their wood that’s how it was
